APP/F2605/W/16/3152342: Church Road, Griston Appeal by Trell Developments against a refusal of planning permission for 3 dwellings. Decision: Dismissed Summary: Three dwellings were proposed on a vacant commercial site in the village of Griston. The Inspector found that the proposed development would be cramped and out of keeping and would be affected by noise from adjacent commercial uses. In addition insufficient evidence had been presented about the possible presence of bats in a disused building on the site. APP/F2605/W/16/3149757: Harkers Lane Swanton Morley Appeal by Mrs S Keen against a refusal to grant planning permission for change of use of an agricultural building into a dwelling. Decision: Dismissed Summary: A prior notification was submitted under the General Permitted Development Order (GPDO) for conversion of a farm building to one dwelling. The Inspector found that as the building was not solely used for agricultural it did not meet the requirements of the GPDO and could not be permitted development. APP/F2605/D/16/3155457: 4 Parkers Road, Mattishall Appeal by Mr P Hicks against a refusal to grant planning permission for extensions to a dwelling. Decision: Dismissed Summary: Extensions were proposed to a semi-detached house in Mattishall. The Inspector found that the proposal would because of its size appear as a dominant feature from the neighbouring property, causing loss of daylight and outlook. APP/F2605/W/16/ 3152570: Richmond Road, Saham Toney Appeal by Mr & Mrs Terry et al against a refusal to grant outline planning permission for extensions to a dwelling. Decision: Allowed. Summary: One dwelling was proposed on the edge of Saham Toney. The Inspector considered that the proposal, although outside the settlement boundary, would relate well to the established pattern of local development. Existing trees could be retained, and local facilities, including those in Watton, would be within easy reach. An application for costs from the appellant was dismissed, the Inspector reasoning that all planning issues had been properly considered and balanced. APP/F2605/D/16/ 3155235: The Old Bell Annexe, High Street, Whissonsett Appeal by Mr T Ulph against a refusal to grant planning permission for change of use of an annexe to a holiday let. Decision: Allowed. Summary: The Inspector acknowledged that the existing site access was poor, but considered that the proposal would not generate more traffic than the existing annex use. He also found there was a general need for holiday accommodation. APP/F2605/D/16/3155872: Mulberry lodge Nursery, Manor Farm Lane, Hoe Appeal by Mr N Hubbard against a refusal to grant planning permission for the conversion of a farm building to a dwelling. Decision: Dismissed Summary: A prior notification was submitted under the General Permitted Development Order (GPDO) for conversion of a farm building to one dwelling. The Inspector found that the building did not qualify as an agricultural building as the nursery had operated as a hobby use rather than a commercial enterprise. The proposal could not be permitted development therefore. APP/F2605/W/16/3154570: Homestead, Ellingham Road, Attleborough Appeal by Mrs P Jackson against a refusal of planning permission for 2 dwellings. Decision: Dismissed Summary: Two dwellings were proposed in the garden of a rural dwelling located between Attleborough and Great Ellingham. The Inspector found that the proposed development would be in an isolated and unsustainable location and would result in an unacceptable consolidation of sporadic development. APP/F2605/W/16/3154572: Highcroft, Ellingham Road, Attleborough Appeal by Mr & Mrs Selwin against a refusal of planning permission for 4 dwellings. Decision: Dismissed Summary: Four dwellings were proposed in open countryside between Attleborough and Great Ellingham.
