Community and Professional Activities 1. Australia Post Stamp Issue – Australia’s Age of Dinosarus 2. Installed an exhibition highlighting Monash research in Geosciences, The Great Ocean Road Dinosaurs, at the Otway Lightstation, Apollo Bay, Victoria. 3. Elected Chair of UNESCO International Geosciences Program (IGCP) based in Paris. Continued to hold Chair of Australian IGCP Committee. 4. Served as Honorary Director, PrimeSCI! and SCI!Expo for public outreach in primary and early secondary schools and for the general public in providing literature, impacting curriculum and installing and maintaining a total of 8 exhibitions, 3 in Timor-Leste, 3 in (see above item 2) Australia and 1 in Singapore. Another to be installed in January 2014 that has been developed in 2013 and this has led to a contract with the ArtScience bringing close to $270,000 into the School of Geosciences, targeted to underwrite student and staff research. 5. Organized or assisted in the organization of 2 International meetings, one in Brazil and another in Saudi Arabia. 6. Organized and led 2 expeditions – one in the Neoproterozoic sequences of the Arabian Shield with the Saudi Geological Survey and a second following in the footsteps of Alfred Russel Wallace in Indonesia, a cooperative project the National University of Singapore, Australian National University and Monash and the Singapore Science Centre. 7. Served as the Curator for two major exhibitions: Island Adventurer. Alfred Russel Wallace (Singapore Science Centre) and Dinosaurs: Dawn to Extinction (ArtScience Museum, Singapore), funds gained from this dedicated to student support at Monash University and to underwrite field expeditions and conferences related to Monash University support and to the UNESCO IGCP587 project based at Monash (www.geosci.monash.edu.au/precsite). .
