UVOD Kroz povijest ljudi su tražili načine ne bi li njihova poruka doprijela do što šire ili pak ciljane skupine ljudi, bilo da je riječ o poslovnim, političkim ili nekim drugim informacijama. U skladu s time bilo je potrebno prilagoditi se vremenu i mogućnostima koje ono pruža. Ograničavajući čimbenici često nisu dozvoljavali više od lokalnog djelovanja. Tek se sa pojavom prvih tehnoloških otkrića naziru konture marketinga, dok je svoj uvodni zamah dobio nakon druge industrijske revolucije. Vrijednost marketinga je shvaćena tijekom 20. stoljeća te je kao poslovna i znanstvena disciplina postao predmetom istraživanja. Iako nije pogrešno promatrati marketing iz perspektive TV i radio oglašavanja, ipak treba imati na umu kako se radi o veoma razgranatom području. Posebno u današnje vrijeme novije su tehnologije, slobodno rečeno, izgurale klasične oblike marketinga u drugi plan. Internet je promijenio svijet iz temelja. Prelaskom na virtualnu razinu nastali su novi obrasci ponašanja, te su se pojavili novi oblici komunikacije. Radom se kroz nekoliko cjelina želi skrenuti pozornost na važnost i mogućnosti marketinga kako bi se dobila slika o tome na koji način marketing funkcionira i čime se u konačnici bavi. Rad je zamišljen kao priča koja prati kronološki slijed uz primjere iz prakse koji služe da bi olakšali shvaćanje teme kao cjeline. Naglasak je pritom na nesvakidašnjim vrstama marketinga čija primjena uzima sve više maha u svijetu. Fokusom na viralni marketing, kao jednog od nekonvencionalnih oblika oglašavanja, nastoje se ustanoviti prednosti i nedostaci njegove primjene te pružiti mnogi odgovori koji se tiču tog specifičnog područja. Postoji velika potreba za proučavanjem viralnog marketinga, posebno iz razloga što se vode dileme o nastanku istoga, pa ga se nerijetko povezuje sa gerilskim marketingom kao izvorom. S obzirom da ne postoje univerzalna načela ili pravila, rezultati koje ostvaruju uspješne viralne kampanje otvaraju vječno pitanje – što to čini viralni marketing toliko uspješnim? Rad započinje kratkim opisom i definiranjem marketinga. Zatim se u istom poglavlju ističu filozofije, odnosno koncepcije kao dio razvoja marketinga te su spomenuti neki od značajnih događaja iz povijesti. Pritom, koncepcije marketinga objašnjavaju promjenu snaga u odnosu tvrtke – korisnici i kako je pojava interneta utjecala na povoljniji položaj korisnika. Sljedeće poglavlje stavlja naglasak na virtualno. Prikazuje se porast internetskih korisnika kroz godine i njihova uloga u takvom, neograničenom prostoru. Pošto marketing i tehnologija 1 idu ruku pod ruku, marketingaši su sa rastom korisnika uvidjeli priliku za djelovanjem i na tom polju. Stoga su u radu spomenuti alati kojima se u praksi pridaje najviše pažnje u oglašavanju, te ostali elementi čiji utjecaj ne treba nipošto zanemariti. Poglavlje zatvara usporedba offline i online marketinga, često promatrana kao razlika između starog i novog, klasičnog i modernog, konvencionalnog i nekonvencionalnog, itd. Zatim slijedi dio koji pobliže opisuje naslov rada, od gerilskog marketinga kao poveznice oko koje se dan danas vode rasprave o ispravnosti takvog promatranja. Poglavljem se želi upoznati čitatelja sa pojmovima gerilskog i viralnog marketinga, njihovim značajkama, pristupu koji primjenjuju i ostalim posebnostima koje su im tipične. Iako se na prvu vjerojatno čine sličnima, razlike između pojmova itekako postoje. Radi boljeg razumijevanja viralnog marketinga poglavlje zatvara analiza jedne od najnagrađivanijih viralnih kampanja koja je postigla uspjeh na globalnoj razini. Na samome kraju rada ostavljen je prostor kako bi se sagledali i ponudili sasvim realni scenariji koji se mogu očekivati u bliskoj budućnosti sa naglaskom na tehnološka otkrića. Premda viralni marketing sve više dobiva na popularnosti, spominju se novi smjerovi u marketingu kao efikasnije varijante, a pred kojima se nalazi izazov da kroz vrijeme to i dokažu. Pri izradi rada koristila se metoda deskripcije pri čemu su od pomoći bile knjige za koje se direktno tiču teme, zatim internetski izvori poput mrežnih stranica i drugi sadržaj (prezentacije, seminari), e-knjige, itd. Povijesnom metodom se željeo istaknuti kronološki slijed razvoja marketinga do oblika koji je predmet istraživanja. Komparativna metoda pruža uvid u razlike između online i offline, klasičnog i modernog, te gerilskog i viralnog marketinga. Induktivnom se metodom željelo kroz pojedinačne zaključke doći do općih sudova i tumačenja vezanih za temu. Uz spomenute, korištene su i metode sinteze i analize slučaja (na primjeru u radu). 2 2.

    Semiotics Analysis #1: Denny’s + Tumblr For my first analysis, I chose the restaurant brand Denny’s and their fun/interact presence on the blogging site Tumblr known for its support of GIF and audio files and “reblog” system. Signifier: Dennys Restaurants (specifically Denny’s Tumblr page) Signified: By utilizing the website Tumblr among other social networks, and adding to the mix their own “GIFs” or animated photos, “Edits”, “Memes”, etc. While most brands come off as corporate or formal, Denny’s aims for the opposite and signifies the breakfast chain restaurant as young, hip, trendy, fun, playful, humorous, pop culture savvy, and overall very casual. Image: Visually, Denny’s Tumblr differs itself from other social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) as well as traditional advertising (print, video/TV, etc.) by taking advantage of Tumblr’s use of multiple media formats. This includes audio posts, text posts, images, GIFs, artwork, comics, and so on. Typically this leads to outrageous sorts of posts, use of humor, bright colors and lots of photoshop. They come off as less of a corporate brand but fun. Denotation: Looking at their blog, it is all over the place. It contains many advertisements, testimonials, photos from users who may have taken a “Denny’s Selfie”, etc. Many of their image posts are animations of their food, there are many parodies of pop culture, and their text posts often contain jokes or even “haikus” dedicated to their menu. Connotation: This variety of fun advertising narrows down to how Denny’s wants their brand to come off as fun, relatable, shareable.
