On behalf of the Faculty of Education, I extend my congratulations to you all and applaud the NLTA for their ongoing work. Your profession is important and touches so many in our province. You have an instrumental role in the lives of students, through your work you impact so many and your dedication and commitment to education is admirable. All of us at the Faculty of Education are proud to be included in events with the NLTA and the teachers throughout our province. Every year at the Induction ceremony for new teachers, I see bright and promising teachers that have successfully completed their programs, eager and ready to change the world. Many of you within the NLTA are alumni who have been part of that experience. Your ongoing support helps us at the Faculty of Education to continue to achieve excellence and constantly grow and adapt to meet the changing needs of new generations of students. Through our professional development programs and research we make every effort to produce great educators. Your involvement, continued participation and feedback is essential to that cause. At Memorial, we continue work to improve the student experience and recently unveiled a Teaching and Learning Framework that by the end of 2023 will serve to strengthen the student educational experience. We all share the pursuit of education, to connect learners and educators to one another, the community and the world to create and exchange knowledge. Working together, we can offer our students well-rounded educational experiences which begins in our excellent school system and carries through the post-secondary experience. It all starts with great teachers. Best regards, Kirk Anderson Dean ! Contact Dan Vatch FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Phone 630-517-3872 Email [email protected] June 25, 2021 RYAN HARDY HIRED BY TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS Two-time USHL GM of the Year ascends to prominent role with Maple Leafs GENEVA, ILLINOIS — Chicago Steel general manager Ryan Hardy has been hired by the Toronto Maple Leafs to serve as Senior Director of Minor League Operations of the Maple Leafs and General Manager of both the Toronto Marlies, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, and the Newfoundland Growlers, the franchise’s ECHL affiliate, announced Friday. During Hardy’s three-year tenure as General Manager, the Steel compiled a USHL-best 116-39- 8-2 record, winning one Clark Cup championship, two Anderson Cups as regular season champions and two Eastern Conference titles. In his new role for Toronto, Hardy will have complete control over the hockey operations for the Marlies and the Growlers, including roster decisions and staffing. “I am certainly excited to begin my new role in Toronto but this is definitely a very bittersweet day,” said Hardy. “I have given all of myself to this team over the last three years and I will miss this place tremendously. I want to thank Larry Robbins and Dan Lehv for the belief they put in me and our ambitious vision three years ago. I am so grateful to Brock Sheahan and our hockey staff, as well as our support staff, who have and will continue to represent our organization in an exemplary fashion. I'm grateful for our billet families and our fans, without whom none of this is possible.
