Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi. 2021. Dibimbing oleh Priyanti dan Kusuma Dewi Sri Yulita. Kalimantan pulau dengan spesies Durio terbanyak, yaitu 18 spesies. Inventarisasi karakter morfologi bunga Durio di Kalimantan digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan kekerabatan dan persebarannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan spesimen herbarium yang tersimpan di Herbarium Bogoriense sebanyak 52 nomor koleksi. Sebanyak 47 karakter morfologi bunga diamati dan diberi skor dengan pendekatan multistate character. Data skoring dianalisis dengan program PAUP 4.0 metode Maximum Parsimony. Titik koordinat lokasi spesimen dicari menggunakan Google Maps, kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam program ArcGIS 10.5 untuk membuat peta persebaran. Sebanyak 15 spesies Durio di Kalimantan berhasil diidentifikasi. Karakter morfologi bunga Durio di Kalimantan memiliki variasi bentuk, warna, dan ukuran kuncup; tangkai bunga; putik; benang sari; mahkota; kelopak; dan kelopak tambahan. Hasil rekonstruksi pohon filogenetik Durio di Kalimantan memiliki nilai indeks homoplasi sebesar 0,5286, indeks konsistensi sebesar 0,4714, indeks retensi sebesar 0,4188, dan panjang langkah 210. Bootstrap tertinggi 66% terdapat pada Durio acutifolius dan D. griffthii. Spesies Durio tersebar di seluruh kawasan Kalimantan dengan 11 spesies tersebar di Provinsi Kalimantan Timur, 2 spesies di Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan, 7 spesies di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat, 3 spesies di Provinsi Kalimantan Utara, dan 6 spesies di Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Karakter morfologi bunga dapat digunakan untuk identifikasi, rekonstruksi pohon filogenetik, dan persebaran Durio di Kalimantan. Kalimantan Island with the most Durio species, namely 18 species. Inventory of the morphological characters of Durio flowers in Kalimantan is used to determine kinship and distribution. This study used 52 herbarium specimens stored in the Herbarium Bogoriense. A total of 47 morphological characters of flowers were observed and scored using the multistate character approach. The scoring data were analyzed using the Maximum Parsimony method PAUP 4.0 program. The coordinates of the specimen location were searched using Google Maps, then entered into the ArcGIS 10.5 program to create a distribution map. A total of 15 Durio species in Kalimantan have been identified. The morphological characters of the Durio flower in Kalimantan have variations in the shape, color and size of the buds; flower stalk; pistil; stamens; crown; petals; and additional petals. The homoplation index value on the cladogram was 0.5286, the consistency index was 0.4714, the retention index was 0.4188, and the stride length was 210. The highest bootstrap was 66% in Durio acutifolius and D. griffthii. Durio species are scattered throughout Kalimantan with 11 species in East Kalimantan Province, 2 species in South Kalimantan Province, 7 species in West Kalimantan Province, 3 species in North Kalimantan Province, and 6 species in Central Kalimantan Province. The morphological characters of flowers can be used to identify, determine kinship, and distribution in Kalimantan. This study was carried out to investigate on the flowering mechanisms of four Durio species in Sarawak. The anthesis started in the afternoon (D. graveolens and D. zibethinus), evening (D. kutejensis) or midnight (D. griffithii); and lasted between 11.5 hours (D. griffithii) to 20 hours (D. graveolens). All four Durio species are generalists. Individuals of a fruit bat (Eonycteris spelaea, Pteropodidae) are considered as the main pollinator for D. graveolens, D. kutejensis, and D. zibethinus while spiderhunter (Arachnothera, Nectariniidae) is also proposed as a primary pollinator for D. kutejensis. Five invertebrate taxa were observed as secondary or inadvertent pollinators of Durio spp.: honeybee, Apis sp. (Apidae), stingless bee, Tetrigona sp. (Apidae), nocturnal wasp, Provespa sp. (Vespidae), pollen beetle (Nitidulidae), and thrip (Thysanoptera). Honey bees and stingless bees pollinated all four Durio species. Pollen beetles were found to pollinate D. griffithii and D. graveolens while nocturnal wasps were found to pollinate D.

Received 5 February 2001 · Accepted 10 April 2001 Abstract A molecular phylogenetic study of Durio s.lat. was conducted based on sequences of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of nuclear ribosomal DNA for 30 ingroup exemplars, representing 16 species, and two taxa of Cullenia as outgroups. The phylogeny suggests the existence of two well-circumscribed clades composed, respectively, of species with poricidal pollen locules (Boschia) and species with pollen locules that open with longitudinal slits (Durio s.str.).The latter clade is subdivided into two strongly supported clades: /Tubulidurio, with highly fused filaments and free calyx lobes, and /Palatadurio, with largely free filaments and connate calyx lobes. We provide phylogenetic definitions for the names of these well-supported clades. Reconstruction of floral evolution is consistent with the hypothesis that vertebrate pollination is ancestral for Durio s.lat. and Cullenia. However, there have been further shifts in pollination system within Durio s.lat., which may account for some of the current diversity of floral characters. The correlation of fruit and aril characteristics suggests that there are two major dispersal syndromes, in- volving either birds (fruits opening on trees; aril red/yellow and odorless) or terrestrial mammals (fruits opening only after falling to the ground; aril pale colored and pungent).The distribution of extant taxa implies a Malesian origin and radiation of the study group, with a single disper- sal of Cullenia to India and Sri Lanka.

Indonesia merupakan salah satu pusat keragaman Durio spp. dari 27 jenis yang ada di dunia. Pusat Konservasi Tumbuhan Kebun Raya-LIPI (KRB) dan Kebun Raya Katingan (KRK) merupakan 2 lembaga konservasi ex-situ dengan fungsi konservasi jenis tumbuhan asli Indonesia. Khusus untuk Kebun Raya Katingan memiliki tema koleksi tumbuhan buah Kalimantan, Indonesia dan kawasa tropika lainnya. Kebun Raya Bogor, yang berada di bawah naungan LIPI, telah mengkoleksi 10 jenis Durio yang telah berhasil diidentifikasi dan 14 jenis yang belum teridentifikasi karena belum menghasilkan buah. Tanaman tersebut dikoleksi dari hutan-hutan di pulau Kalimantan dan Sumatera. Sedangkan Kebun Raya Katingan, yang merupakan kebun raya daerah yang dikoordinir oleh Pemerintah Kabupaten Katingan, baru memiliki 7 jenis Durio yang berasal dari hutan-hutan di Kalimantan Tengah. Beberapa jenis diantaranya bersifat endemik di Kalimantan Selanjutnya akan dijabarkan masing-masing jenis, potensi dan status kelangkaan berdasarkan IUCN Redlist.

    The Fruit Growers of Southwest Florida NOVEMBER 2020 Collier Fruit Growers Members are in for a real treat, no tricks, at the November 17 th Membership Meeting. Messrs. Noel Ramos and Mario Lozano will discuss their 1998 Travels in Honduras and the exploration for fruits. Noel Ramos has worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for much of his career. In his other life, Noel lectures throughout Florida and out of state about tropical fruit, sustainable agriculture, and green living. He has also written over a dozen articles and book reviews about this subject. Noel has traveled extensively to botanical gardens, agricultural research stations, and private farms throughout the U.S., Europe, the Caribbean, and Central America. Noel currently lives in Fort Lauderdale, where he grows many species of rare tropical fruits including Abiu, Breadfruit, Achachairu, Sapotes, Jakfruits, Mangos, Coffee, Cacao, and others. Mario Lozano is a participating member of Collier Fruit Growers and avid tropical fruit hunter and aficionado. Both men remain the best of friends.
