Integration of “AzerIshig” OJSC to modern smart systems Smart digital equipment is widely used in distribution grids of AzerIshig OJSC to organize the management more efficiently. Digital relays and other smart devices enable to form the substation automation and to connect to SCADA system. Besides gas isolated electric power distribution equipments are widely used in high and medium voltages. The smart electric equipment have the following advantages: - Minimum dimensions; - Long-term and easy maintenance; - Minimum technical electric power loss; - Remote control and management; - Integration to smart grids. SCADA SCADA system of “AzerIshig” OJSC increases the efficiency of electric power supply. Formation of central SCADA system has the following advantages: - Efficient organization of real-time operations; - Speedy operation conversions; - To overcome the accidents in real- time; - Possibility to prepare the forecasts about the maintenance of power equipment. Test and diagnosis The following advantages are achieved by using the advanced technologies in testing and also in diagnosis in AzerIshig OJSC. - More precise diagnosis of the current condition of the power equipment; - Quicker finding of damages; - Prevention of damages; - Preparation of forecasts about maintenance of power equipment. METERS “Azerishiq” OJSC widely uses British AMPY and Turkish MAKEL type electronic meters. Besides, currently smart SMS meters are applied currently as well. These types of meters allow for two-way communication between users and the grid and support integration into smart grids. SMS meters have the following advantages: - Distant reading of meter consumption by sending a message; - On-line top-up of account with a message; - Possibility to define 4 different tariff scale from remote; - Possibility to control energy consumption; - Possibility to connect/disconnect the meter remotely; - Individual control of the account of a subscriber; - Sms-notification service about decrease of balance. • The World Factbook Middle East :: Azerbaijan Introduction
The World Factbook Middle East :: Azerbaijan Introduction :: Azerbaijan Background: Azerbaijan - a nation with a majority-Turkic and majority-Shia Muslim population - was briefly independent (from 1918 to 1920) following the collapse of the Russian Empire; it was subsequently incorporated into the Soviet Union for seven decades. Azerbaijan has yet to resolve its conflict with Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh, a primarily Armenian-populated region that Moscow recognized in 1923 as an autonomous republic within Soviet Azerbaijan after Armenia and Azerbaijan disputed the territory's status. Armenia and Azerbaijan began fighting over the area in 1988; the struggle escalated after both countries attained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. By May 1994, when a cease-fire took hold, ethnic Armenian forces held not only Nagorno-Karabakh but also seven surrounding provinces in the territory of Azerbaijan. The OSCE Minsk Group, co-chaired by the United States, France, and Russia, is the framework established to mediate a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Corruption in the country is widespread, and the government, which eliminated presidential term limits in a 2009 referendum, has been accused of authoritarianism. Although the poverty rate has been reduced and infrastructure investment has increased substantially in recent years due to revenue from oil and gas production, reforms have not adequately addressed weaknesses in most government institutions, particularly in the education and health sectors. Economic Research Centre Strengthening Municipalities in Azerbaijan Concept Paper This paper has been prepared within the framework of Oxfam, GB and ICCO, Netherlands co-funded project “The Role of Local self-governments in Poverty reduction in Azerbaijan” Expert group members working on the concept: Research Team Leader: Rovshan Agayev: Other Team Members: Gubad Ibadoglu Azer Mehtiyev Aydin Aslanov Translated by: Elshad Mikayilov Baku 2007 1 INTRODUCTION Democratic political system, creation of effective public management and eradication of socio-economic recession are the major challenges facing most of the world countries. The analysis of experience across highly developed countries reveals that the road to democratic and economic prosperity is quite clear. The matter has more to deal with the rejection of authoritarian type of management both in political and economic realms, establishment of market oriented relations and liberal economic environment. Liberal political and economic system in the country first and foremost presupposes deeper decentralization along with the autonomous strong municipal institutions from the perspectives of administration and financial capacity. However, a number of transition countries do not have any precise policy or concept for decentralization. They seem to be conservative towards any other external efforts or initiatives with that respect. The situation is even more complicated by a higher level of corruption in public administration and high-rank public officials preponderantly pursuing their own

  • The Historical and Cultural Monuments As Recreational Reserves in Guba-Khachmaz Economic Region of Azerbaijan
American International Journal of Contemporary Research Vol. 3 No. 6; June 2013 The Historical and Cultural Monuments as Recreational Reserves in Guba-Khachmaz Economic Region of Azerbaijan Arzu Hasmammadova The Institute of Geography Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Azerbaijan Abstract Tourism as most beneficial economic activity has been rapidly developing in the Republic of Azerbaijan in recent years, and this process is continuing as well. The increasing role of tourism potential on international scale finds its reflection in growth of trips made by visitors to this country. The development of different kinds of recreational business, assistance made for small- and medium ownerships, and also creation of modern tourism infrastructure considerably influence on amount of investments in tourism industry of Azerbaijan. The 2011 year has been declared as "The year of tourism" in the country. Different ways of development of tourism, improvement of services in this area, training of professional specialists, solution of visa problem, creation of new touristic routes and city tours, and other issues were at the center of government's attention. In 2011, Azerbaijan were visited by 1836226 persons. The number of incomes from tourism made 966,3 thousand Azeri manat (about $ 760 thousand) or 59,5% much more than that of 2010. The territory of Azerbaijan is of great interest for tourists not only due to natural condition but also cultural objects with long history. This paper is devoted to historical and cultural recreational reserves of Guba-Khachmaz, one of the most developed touristic regions of Azerbaijan. Acta Biologica Sibirica, 2019, 5(3), 62-117, doi: https://doi.org/10.14258/abs.v5.i3.6433 RESEARCH ARTICLE A catalogue of butterflies (Lepidoptera, Rhopalocera) of Azerbaijan N.Y. Snegovaya, V.A. Petrov Zoological Institute National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan A. Abbaszade St. 1128, Baky, Azerbaijan, E-mail: [email protected] National Museum of Georgia Rustaveli Ave. 3, Tbilisi, Georgia, E-mail: [email protected] An annotated list of butterflies from Azerbaijan, containing 280 species, is presented. The classification and nomenclature in this work are accepted according to the key of Korb & Bolshakov (2016). The full list of species composition of butterflies of Azerbaijan numbering 280 species for today is presented for the first time, and it was supplemented by new materials collected by the first author from 2012 to 2019. We came up with the list of the total species composition of butterflies in Azerbaijan, which currently includes 280 species from 6 families (Hesperiidae - 37, Papilionidae - 10, Pieridae - 28, Lycaenidae - 100, Riodinidae - 1, Nimphalidae - 104) for today was compiled. We record Papilio demoleus demoleus Linnaeus, 1758 as a new species for the fauna of the Caucasus. Our results will help to continue biodiversity study and expand the information on the distribution of the butterflies (Papilionoformes) in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus. Key words: butterflies; Azerbaijan; catalogue; Lepidoptera Rhopalocera or butterflies are one of the popular groups of insects, which are an important component of terrestrial biocenoses. The fauna of Lepidoptera of Azerbaijan has attracted the attention of lepidopterists for a long time. The first butterfly researcher in Azerbaijan was E.Menetries (Menetries, 1832, 1855, 1859).
