Pledges can be paid online via the shul website or by giving a check to Rabbi Jaffe. All funds are for the Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund, which assists members of the local community during difficult times and circumstances. Please consider donating to the RDF regularly. KIDDUSH this week is sponsored by Chaim & Ariella Schachter in commemoration of the 31st Yahrzeit of Chaim’s father, Yisrael Shlomo ben Moshe. NEW SHIUR: Rabbi Jaffe will be delivering a new Nesivos Shalom shiur on the parsha starting this Shabbos. The shiur will be held 45 minutes prior to Mincha on Shabbos afternoons. PERSONALITIES OF THE TALMUD will return next Sunday June 7, topic TBA. Join us for a shiur and breakfast with the Steinsaltz chevra after the 8:15AM shacharis. Breakfast sponsorships welcome and appreciated. SISTERHOOD BOOK CLUB: The AY Sisterhood is happy to invite all women to the first meeting of our new Book Club! Please join us at the shul on Sunday, May 31st, at 7:30pm to discuss "The Nanny Diaries" by Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus. The discussion will be led by Rachel Gottfried. We will also vote on the next book. Please email [email protected] with any questions. SHIUR FOR WOMEN: Rabbi Jaffe will be giving a shiur for women on Tuesday night, June 2nd, at 8:30PM at the shul. The topic of the shiur is “Why Keep Kosher? Understanding the Sources.” All women are invited to attend. AY YOUTH SHABBOS will take place on Shabbos, Parshas Shlach, June 12th-13th. The AY Youth will be taking over the shul and will be conducting all services and speaking. If you or your child/teen is interested in participating in any way, please contact Rabbi Jaffe as soon as possible. Please note: there will be no Hashkamah minyan on this Shabbos. We look forward to a beautiful Shabbos run by the youth of our community! The next SIMCHA KIDDUSH will be on Shabbos, Parshas Shlach, June 13th, and will celebrate all recent and upcoming simchas and graduations this year. The cost to sponsor per simcha is $18.00 and will include the announcement of each individual simcha. Signup will be available on the website starting this Sunday, by speaking to Rabbi Davis, or by sending an email to [email protected]. STEINSALTZ SHALOSH SEUDOS: There will be a Shalosh Seudos in honor of the Steinsaltz chevra on Shabbos, Parshas Korach, June 20th. We will be honoring Eli Baumol and Uri Keller, the Steinsaltz chevra who were a big part of the AY family and larger community this past year and will be leaving to go back to Israel shortly. We are looking for sponsors of the Shalosh Seudos. Signup will be available on the website starting this Sunday or by speaking to Rabbi Davis. SUMMER KOLLEL 2015: Use your long summer evenings productively! Join us at the shul for Beis Medrash style learning two nights a week 7:30-10:00PM starting Tuesday, June 22nd for six weeks. There will be open Beis Medrash learning, Mincha/Ma’ariv, Chavrusa learning, and a shiur from Rabbi Jaffe. For more information, please speak to Rabbi Jaffe or Bentzion Gelfand. This year Congregation Ohav Emeth (OE) is honoring the “Survivors of the Shoah” including our very own Papa Jack Nasielski. These heroes truly deserved to be honor on the 70th anniversary of their liberation. The dinner will be held on Wed June 3, 2015 at the Rutgers – Chabad House in New Brunswick, NJ. Many of us, including Papa Jack and his beloved late wife Judy, started our Shul careers at OE and Ohav Emeth continues to have a warm spot in our hearts, despite that fact that we do not daven there on a regular basis anymore. OE PEREK ON THE LAWN: The Highland Park-Edison Community is invited to attend our first Perek on the Lawn on Shabbat May 30th at 6:30 PM. Rabbi Leon Glaser is our first featured speaker.
