You may have noticed that they have already been busy clearing the footpath along The Avenue (& will clear it once again after all the leaves have fallen from the trees). There are a few job’s lined up for them over the coming weeks, however, if you know of any age appropriate jobs that need doing locally please email [email protected] and we will endeavour to get them done where possible. Can we also thank Mark Stokes for spraying the weeds along The Avenue, prior to it being cleared by the volunteers (& then again by the County Council, who also swept the kerbside) Miss Gledhill Headteacher South Otterington School We have learnt a new dance for us to perform just before we enter school after lunch, to add to our physical education minutes per day. It is based on a Brazilian Dance and involves us counting in 2s, 4s and 8s! It is great fun and the children are enjoying this lively start to the afternoon. We can now use Makaton for the Lord's Prayer, and it is very moving to see the children do this in our daily Collective Worship. Our Harvest Festival was held on Friday 25th October in St Andrew's Church, during which we collected dried food and tins for the Hambleton Foodshare South Otterington Village Sign (outside school) Martin Harland has kindly donated some stone to enable us to build a wall and replace the village sign on the green outside the school, it is anticipated that its building will start in the coming months… weather depending!
