  • 3.4 Routing of Interceptors Options of Possible Routes of Interceptors Have
3.4 Routing of Interceptors Options of possible routes of interceptors have been developed and assessed in this Section. All of the outlets are to be intercepted and collected wastewater is to be conveyed to Nong Bon WWTP which will be constructed at the site adjacent to Rama IX Park in all options. 3.4.1 Comparison of Routes The following prerequisite conditions are established for selecting interceptor routes. 1) All of the existing outlets are intercepted. 2) Interceptors are laid under klongs or roads. 3) Outlets are connected to WWTP by shortest possible routes since the topography of the treatment area is almost flat. Among the above conditions, (1) is thought to be natural because all wastewater is to be collected. The reasons for condition (2) are described in the former Section 3.3.3. The reasons for condition (3) are to minimize construction cost by making interceptors as shallow as possible. Taking into account the above conditions, the following 2 options are developed as trial options. Option 1: Almost all interceptors are laid under klongs Option 2: Almost all interceptors are laid under roads Routes of these two options are shown in Figure 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 respectively. Features of these options are as follows. 1) A total length of interceptors of Option 1 is approximately 66 km which is shorter than that of Option 2 (78 km) by approximately 12 km, since klongs run in all directions in the treatment area. 2) Wastewater can be received directly from the existing outlets in Option 1.

  • The Phonological of Patani Malay Dialect: an Analysis of Autosegmental Theory
Indonesian Journal of Education, Social Sciences and Research (IJESSR) Vol. 1, No. 2, September 2020, pp. 71~78 ISSN: 2723-3693 r 71 The Phonological of Patani Malay Dialect: An Analysis Of Autosegmental Theory Dr. Suraiya Chapakiya1 1Department of Teaching Malay And Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, Fatoni University, Thailand. ABSTRACT This paper aims at identifying and determining Malay dialect phonemes and the syllable structure of Patani Malay Dialect (PMD). The study is also conducted to analyze the phonological processes of PMD. The researcher used the autosegmental theory based on distinctive feature geometry model by Halle (1995), Clément’s representation level of syllable structure (1985) and, Zaharani and Teoh Boon Seongs’ building of syllable structure (2006). A Qualitative method was used in this study. The data were collected from the field work where observations and interviewing were carried out. The results show that the PMD can be divided into three vowel phoneme categories. The first vowel phoneme category consists of six vowel phonemes. They are /i/, /e/, /a/, /«/, /o/, /u/. The second vowel phoneme category has two derived vowel phonemes such as [E], [] and the last vowel phoneme category consists of four nasalization vowels such as [u)], [E)], [)] dan [a)]. The study also found that PMD has 28 consonants. They can be grouped into three consonant categories. The first consonant category consists of 20 original consonants such as /p/, /t/, /k/, /b/, /d/, /g/, /c&/, /j&/, /s/, /l/, /r/, /Ä/, /m/, /n/, /N/, /ø/, /w/, /j/, /h/, ///. The second consonant category has four aspiration consonants such as /ph/, /th/, /kh/, /ch/.

© Lonely Planet Publications 101 BANGKOK BANGKOK Bangkok In recent years, Bangkok has broken away from its old image as a messy third-world capital to be voted by numerous metro-watchers as a top-tier global city. The sprawl and tropical humidity are still the city’s signature ambassadors, but so are gleaming shopping centres and an infectious energy of commerce and restrained mayhem. The veneer is an ultramodern backdrop of skyscraper canyons containing an untamed universe of diversions and excesses. The city is justly famous for debauchery, boasting at least four major red-light districts, as well as a club scene that has been revived post-coup. Meanwhile the urban populous is as cosmopolitan as any Western capital – guided by fashion, music and text messaging. But beside the 21st-century façade is a traditional village as devout and sacred as any remote corner of the country. This is the seat of Thai Buddhism and the monarchy, with the attendant splendid temples. Even the modern shopping centres adhere to the old folk ways with attached spirit shrines that receive daily devotions. Bangkok will cater to every indulgence, from all-night binges to shopping sprees, but it can also transport you into the old-fashioned world of Siam. Rise with daybreak to watch the monks on their alms route, hop aboard a long-tail boat into the canals that once fused the city, or forage for your meals from the numerous and lauded food stalls. HIGHLIGHTS Joining the adoring crowds at Thailand’s most famous temple, Wat Phra Kaew (p108) Escaping the tour

Keeping It Alive: Mapping Bangkok’s Diverse Living Culture Bussakorn Binson+ Pattara Komkam++ Pornprapit Phaosavadi+++ and Kumkom Pornprasit++++ (Thailand) Abstract This research project maps Bangkok’s living local culture sites while exploring, compiling and analyzing the relevant data from all 50 districts. This is an overview article of the 2011 qualitative !eld research by the Urban Research Plaza and the Thai Music and Culture Research Unit of Chulalongkorn University to be published in book form under the title Living Local Cultural Sites of Bangkok in 2012. The complete data set will be transformed into a website fortifying Bangkok’s cultural tourism to remedy its reputation as a destination for sex tourism. The !ve areas of cultural activity include the performing arts, rites, sports and recreation, craftsmanship, and the domestic arts. It was discovered that these living local cultural sites mirror the heterogeneity of its residents with their diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. There are local culture clusters of Laotians, Khmers, Mon, Chinese, Islam, Brahman-Hinduism, and Sikhs as well as Westerners. It was also found that the respective culture owners are devoted to preserve their multi-generational heritage. The natural beauty of these cultural sites remains clearly evident and vibrant, even though there remain dif!culties hampering their retention. The mapping of these sites are discussed as well as the issues surrounding those cultural sites that are in danger of extinction due to the absence of successors and other supportive factors necessary for their sustainability.
