He is Sarawak United People's Party Youth assistant secretary, secretary of SUPP Sri Aman, and SUPP Sri Aman youth leader. Francis, who is a son of the late State Assemblyman Hollis Tini, holds a diploma in business study from Institut Teknologi Mara (1976-1979) and a BSc in business administration (Finance and Management) from the University of Walsh, Ohio, US (1987-1988). Pelawan: Vincent Goh Chung Siong, 45, is the Sarawak United People's Party youth leader. Born in Sibu, Goh has a BSc degree in statistics and mathematics from the City University, London. He works as the chairman of the Sibu Rural District Council. Goh was initially tipped to contest in Nangka, but when the new seat was allocated to PBB, SUPP picked him to succeed Datuk Ting Ing Mieng in Pelawan (formerly Seduan). Ting declined nomination on health grounds. Senadin: Lee Kim Shin, 46, holds the positions of SUPP committee member, chairman of the party's research and resources sub-committee, vice chairman of SUPP Miri and chairman of the SUPP Pujut-Lutong sub-branch. Born in Miri, Lee is a graduate in political science from Universiti Sains Malaysia. His working experiences include being a teacher (1968) and school affairs officer (1969-75) before furthering his studies in USM (1976-81). Bukit Begunan: Mong Dagang, 40, resigned on Aug 21 from Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Bhd (Satok Branch), where he was an officer in the loans division, to contest the election. Dagang, from Sungai Tengang, Pantu, in Sri Aman division, has been with BBMB since 1978. In 1982,he took leave to study for his Master of Business Administration from Laredo State University, Texas. Before he worked for BBMB, Dagang was an officer at the Sarawak Housing Development Corporation shortly after he obtained his business administration diploma from ITM. Belaga: Stanley Ajang Batok, 42, succeeds veteran politician Datuk Nyipa Bato who declined to contest due to health reasons. Ajang holds a BSc in Geology from Universiti Malaya (obtained in 1980) and works as Chief Executive Officer of Edward & Son (EM) Sdn Bhd - a firm involved in the oil and gas industry. Telang Usan: Robert Laing Anyie, 46, is from Long Panai, Tutoh, in Ulu Baram. He holds a BA in political studies from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Anyie's working experiences include teaching (1970-1971); trading supervisor (1973-1980) and assistant project officer (1981-1985) - both with the Sarawak SEDC; political secretary at the Ministry of Land Development (1985-1987); company secretary with a private firm (1987- 1988); and public relations officer in the Chief Minister's office (1988 until present). Ba' Kelalan: Dr Judson Sakai Tagal, 44, is a Lun Bawang from Buduk Nur in Ba'Kelalan, Sarawak's apple-growing area. He graduated with an MBBS degree from Universiti Malaya (1973-1979) and a FRCS (post graduate) from the University of Edinburgh. He is holding the post of chairman of SNAP Ba'Kelalan, Dr Judson had stints as medical officer with the Kapit district hospital, Sarikei district hospital, Registrar of surgery of Hospital KL, and consultant of surgery at the Miri hospital. In 1988, he opened his own clinic and also holds the post of director of Selesa Medical Centre in Miri. Jepak: Talib Zulpilip, 45, born in Bintulu, is present chairman of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation. This father of four has a master's of commerce and administration from Victory University, Wellington. He is a board member of two public-listed companies - Cement Manufacturers Sarawak Berhad and Sarawak Concrete Industries Berhad and chairman of a number of SEDC's subsidiaries. He is also vice-president of Rumpun Seni Silat Sarawak, chairman of Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Islam Bintulu, treasurer of Angkatan Zaman Mansang (an NGO), board member of Institute of Management Sarawak, chairman of Bakun project logistics subcommittee, and chairman of the committee for privatisation of Brooke Dockyard & Engineering Works Corporation. Samariang: Donna Babel, 51, a mother of three leads an active public life. Her academic achievements include a BA degree from Universiti Malaya, Diploma in education from the same university, and an MA in South-east Asian studies from the University of Kent, Britain. Donna has also worked as a lecturer and principal in a number of secondary schools in the city, before being roped into the Education Department where her last post was as head of the department's management services sector. Tebedu: Michael Manyin, 45, is a native of Kampung Pichin in Serian district. He holds an MA (psychology studies) from Leicester University, United Kingdom. He also has a BSc in economy and a diploma in education from Universiti Malaya, and an advanced diploma in psychology from an institution in London. Manyin served as the principal of Sekolah Menengah Kerajaan Tebakang, SMK Bau, SMK Saratok, deputy principal of the Rajang Teachers Training College, and later as principal of Kolej Abang Abdillah until last year when he was appointed the Walikota (chairman) of the Samarahan district council, a post he still holds. Nangka: Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, 37, obtained his LLB degree from Universiti Malaya (1979-83). He works in a law firm in Sibu. He is a member of the Sibu Municipal Council since 1990. Lambir: Aidan Wing, 42, holds a LLB (Hons) from the University of Wolverhampton. He has a long association with Malayan Banking Berhad. Aidan first worked with the bank in 1972 in its credit management division. He was manager of its Lawas branch from 1982-86, Miri branch (1986-1990) and Satok branch in Kuching (1990-1994). From 1995 till July this year, he served as the senior manager (marketing) with Kewangan Utama Berhad in Kuching. Marudi: Sylvester Entri anak Muran, 42, an Iban, is from Puyut, Marudi, in Baram district. He has a diploma in agricultural science from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, a BSc in agriculture science (also from UPM), and a Master of Science in rural resources and environmental policy from the University of London. He is working as a senior agriculture officer with the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority. Sylvester had earlier in his life worked as a temporary teacher, agriculture officer with Universiti Pertanian Malaysia and later with the Agriculture Department Sri Aman Tasik Biru: Peter Nansian anak Ngusie, 47, is a Bidayuh from Kampung Apar Singai, Bau. Married with two children, he worked an as accountant with the Bintulu Development Authority before being promoted to senior accountant and later as head of finance. He now holds the post of assistant general manager. Prior to joining BDA, Nansian was a teacher with the Limbang Government secondary school, trainee accountant with an import/export company in London for seven months, lecturer in accounting and business with ITM Sarawak for 30 months. His educational background includes a teacher's training certificate from the Batu Lintang Training College, diploma in accountancy from ITM, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Tarat: Roland Sagah, 41, a Bidayuh, was born in Kampng Quop, Kuching. This advocate and solicitor is a supreme council member of PBB Sarawak and head of PBB Bengoh. His working experience includes stints as field assistant with the Sarawak Land Development Board (three months), temporary teacher of Kuching Town Secondary School (one year), political secretary to the Chief Minister (6 1/2 years).
