Mrs. Hayes and I have missed all the students, parents, and teachers during this time of eLearning. As we get closer to the start of the new school year, we will be reaching out with specific information about what Ballast Point will look like and how you can best help your child be prepared. We are excited to show off our new school building paint color— including our exterior walls, doors and floors in main building. In our 4th & 5th grade classrooms—we had wall-mounted projectors installed which will MySpot registration allow for more space in rooms and upgrade our technology. Thanks to our amazing PTA & Dad’s, we are now able to started the next phase of this technology https://myspot.sdhc.k12.fl.us/register/ project - 2nd & 3rd grade classes. To support our technology needs, the district has also purchased new devices for each classroom. Prior to Spring Break, our new primary playground was completed and is now ready for student use. As more projects are finished, we will continue to keep you informed. To ensure the safety for all—staff, students, parents and community—social distancing and safety guidelines will be followed at all Ballast Point events. School Hours Arrival & Dismissal Specific guidelines will be shared prior to each event. This will be sent in a format with a link for you to access the Tardy Bell 7:40 AM welcome packet—transportation information, Student Nutrition information, visitor/volunteer policy, class codes, and first day procedures. Dismissal Bell 12:55 PM (Monday) 1:55 PM (Tuesday-Friday)  Open House/Meet the Teacher—Thursday, August 6th from 3 pm- 5 pm. Visit your child’s classroom, drop off school supplies and purchase 2020-2021 spiritwear. Ms. Hastings and Mrs. Hayes will be located in the Media Center, stop by and say “Hello’. Important Dates Please see attached Refrigerator Calendar  Kindergarten Meet & Greet on Saturday, August 8th from 9-10 am—this is a drop-in time under the covered court for families, students and teachers with upcoming events for the month of to connect with one another. Please plan to stop by for a few minutes to mingle. August.  First Day of School—Monday, August 10th—drop off begins at 7:10 a.m. Please park on Quincy Street or across the street at South Tampa Fellowship. After you drop your child off in class, stop by the media center for Cheers and Tears from 7:40 a.m.—8:10 a.m. This event is for all families who are wishing to share the sentimental experience of the first day of school with other Ballast Point families. The only expectation is to leave knowing that your child will be safe and happy at school. A refrigerator calendar will be sent out monthly with events—keep this calendar handy so you will know what is happening on campus and how to get in- volved at Ballast Point.
