We are hoping to in 2021 as well. At this time, however, the pro- gram is on hold. As the pandemic is creating havoc in planning, precautions are at the forefront. If the program does take place, the earliest it will begin at the center would be March. We will be putting updates on the center phone an- swering machine beginning the end of January. We will also put information in the newspaper and tv stations and on our Facebook page. Please be patient as we work out details. The center phone number is 2317799420 Absolutely Fabulous Resale Plett Rd south of the light by Walmart and right next door to PakMail. We now have a new option for resale in town! This brand new store is managed by Sue Jensen. We have been great friends with Sue as she has helped clothe our models for the annual Senior Appreciation Day Style Show for years now. Yes, the models are from the Cadillac Senior Center! What’s exciting about this new store is our partnership with them. If you donate items and tell them it’s for the Cadillac Senior Center, we get a portion of the proceeds!!! This is a great fundraising option for us as we are in great need at this time! They are also very stringently cleaning, sanitizing and following prop- er protocols for safety in the store. So please keep this option in mind as you do some early spring cleaning. To analyse how the film not only displays said polarities, but subsequently showcases them as residing in fallacy, the categories of man and animal must at first be somewhat adhered to, where the human and animal characters of the film are recognized as originally residing in their separate spheres. It is then scrutinized how those characters exit these spheres, as well as how the spheres themselves seem to hybridize and intermingle. The essay consists of five segments; a foreword, three theoretical and analytical chapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter, “Man becomes Animal”, introduces Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’s hypothesis of “becoming-animal” as a recurring focal point of reference throughout the analysis. It also explores film critic Robin Wood’s basic formula of horror in relation to the effect of a man and an animal being doubles. In addition of making use of animal studies alongside general film studies, the essay also utilizes studies of humanistic geography, as the chapter also includes Chris Wilbert’s workings with philosopher Karen Barad’s term “intra-action”.

    The Caheri Gutierrez by Story James O’Brien On November 20, 2008, Caheri Gutierrez was stopped at a traffic light in deep East Oakland when her life changed forever. What follows is a real story most people can’t begin to comprehend and will hopefully never experience. Caheri is living proof of the need for, and impact of, Youth ALIVE!. What happened to her is horrific, but it doesn’t end with a broken girl lost in sadness and trauma. Two years after the incident, Caheri joined the Youth ALIVE! staff as the Teens on Target Violence Prevention Educator. This is her story. Oakland is one of the five most violent cities in the U.S., with a murder rate nearly four times the national average. Yet it is also a beacon of hope. Youth ALIVE! is a nationally recognized, Oakland-based nonprofit whose mission is to prevent violence and develop youth leadership in California communities. Our programs – Teens on Target anti-violence youth leadership and peer education, Caught in the Crossfire intervention with gunshot victims to break to the cycle of violence, and Khadafy Washington Project assistance to grieving families to reduce tensions following a homicide – have been replicated in dozens of communities across the country.
