Certiport Certification Exams and Details Microsoft Office Specialist 2010(50 Minutes each) Microsoft Word 2010 The Core-level Microsoft Office Word 2010 User should be able to navigate Microsoft Office Word 2010 software at the feature and functionality level. They should be familiar with and know how to use at least 80% of the features and capabilities of Microsoft Office Word 2010. The core-level user should be able to use Microsoft Office Word 2010 to create and edit professional-looking documents for a variety of purposes and situations. Users would include people from a wide variety of job roles from almost all areas of professional, student, and personal life. Some of the roles users might take on include, but are not limited to, the following: • Clerical, Office professionals • Consultants • Executives/Managers • Help desk personnel • Instructors/Trainers • Marketing personnel • Product developers • Sales • Students • Writers • Other members of the general population Tasks that might be undertaken or work products created by members of the Microsoft Word 2010 Core- level User Target Audience might include, but are not be limited to, the following: • Blogging • Business plans • Business reports • Case studies • Creating Forms • Documentation • Journals • Letters • Marketing materials • Outlining • Papers • Publications (books, articles) • Recipes • Reports • Scrapbooking • Studies • User manuals • Web info/papers • White papers Microsoft Excel 2010 The Core-level Microsoft Office Excel 2010 User should be able to navigate Microsoft Office Excel 2010 software at the feature and functionality level. They create slide shows based on custom templates generated by others and frequently reuse slides. Their slides include sophisticated data presented in visual formats. These users know how to pause and move back and forth in slide shows, jump to specific slides, drill down to supporting data, and mark up slides. Microsoft Outlook 2010 Users can format message content by using character and paragraph formatting, use graphic elements such as charts and tables, and create contact records, tasks, and appointments from incoming messages. They create contact groups, schedule meetings, and share schedules to facilitate communication with other Outlook users. Microsoft Access 2010 The typical candidate for the exam works as a user support professional, trainer, teacher, professor, database user, or database creator who needs to create or maintain a basic Access database. Users can create, modify, and extend functionality of basic database objects, including tables, queries, forms, and reports. Users can also construct and modify basic relationships among database entities and can instruct others in basic Access functionality and usage. Microsoft Office Specialist 2007 (50 Minutes Each) Microsoft Word 2007 Candidates for this exam should have the equivalent of six months to one year of hands-on experience creating business deliverables with Microsoft Office Word 2007 and might have experience with previous versions of Microsoft Office Word. These candidates are especially strong in creating, customizing, and organizing documents by using formatting and visual content that is appropriate for the information presented. They are also strong in reviewing, sharing, and securing content Microsoft Excel 2007 Candidates for this exam should have the equivalent of six months to one year of hands-on experience creating business deliverables with Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and might have experience with previous versions of Microsoft Office Excel. These candidates are especially effective and efficient at creating and manipulating data, formatting data and content, creating and modifying formulas, presenting data visually, and collaborating on and securing data. Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 Successful candidates for this exam have the equivalent of six months to one year of hands-on experience creating business deliverables with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 and might have experience with previous versions of Microsoft Office PowerPoint. These candidates are especially effective and efficient at creating and formatting presentation masters and templates, creating and formatting slide content, working with dynamic visual content, and collaborating on and delivering presentations. Microsoft Outlook 2007 Successful candidates for this exam have the equivalent of six months to one year of hands-on experience managing their own time, tasks, e-mail, and projects by using Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and might have experience with previous versions of Microsoft Office Outlook. These candidates are especially effective and efficient at managing messaging (including automated messages and message security), managing schedules and tasks, managing contacts and personal contact information, and organizing information. Microsoft Access 2007 Successful candidates for this exam have the equivalent of six months to one year of hands-on experience using Microsoft Office Access 2007 and might have experience using previous versions of Microsoft Access. They are especially effective and efficient at structuring databases, creating and formatting database elements, entering and modifying data, creating and modifying queries, presenting and sharing data, and managing and maintaining the overall database.
