Days Place Purpose Public Benefit 1 Universities RCC & RCDG meetings Universities Scotland Research and Commercialisation Committee (“RCC”) and its Research & Commercialisation Directors sub-group (“RCDG”). formal committees of Universities Scotland, the representative body for the interests of Scotland’s HEIs. 1 Manchester AURIL council meeting elected 2008 to the governing body of AURIL, the UK’s main membership organisation representing the interests of university research and industrial liaison offices and similar. In general AURIL seeks to improve the impact and benefits of university research and knowledge transfer offices for the benefit of UK HEIs and the UK economy. 1 Technology Ventures Scotland Advisory Board meeting representative for the University sector, to advise on various issues relating to the contribution of University research results to economic development. TVS in turn advises those government agencies with responsibilities in the area e.g. Scottish Enterprise, SFC, Scottish Government. 3 London Giving talks at Praxis “Advanced Licensing Skills” course. Praxis courses provide continuing professional development for staff working in research services and commercialisation offices. 1 Edinburgh RCDG meeting and meeting to discuss Enterprise Fellowships RCDG, as above programme with Royal Society of Edinburgh 1 Participation on review panel for Research & Enterprise Training -Passing on experience to other institutions within Services as an invited contributor. Scotland 1 Edinburgh RCDG meeting RCDG, as above 1 LUPS ESF/ERDF Programme Monitoring Committee Scottish Government committee which oversees the processes by which funding is allocated from the European Social Fund and European Regional Development Fund in the Lowland & Upland Scotland area. The funds are utilised to support the Scottish economy.

The committee aims to ensure that public funds in research and knowledge transfer are used wisely and governed properly.
