University of Missouri School of Medicine Scholarships Per the terms of the Trust, as modified by the June 1, 2016 nonjudicial settlement agreement between the Curators of the University of Missouri and the Missouri Attorney General, the funds shall be used "...for the establishment, support and maintenance of one or more scholarships at the A.L. Crawford Memorial Scholarship Medical School at the University of Missouri at Columbia." The terms further state "...the recipients of such scholarships and the amount of the stipend for each shall be determined by the University acting through such officers or committee as it may from time to time charge with the duty of passing upon aids and awards to students." One or more annual awards shall be made to medical students enrolled in the School of Medicine. Ada Mae Clough Scholarship for Medical Students Selected recipients must have a demonstrated financial need. Alan J. DuMontier M.D. Medical Student Scholarship Fund To provide one or more annual awards to students in the MU School of Medicine. One or more annual awards shall be made to full-time students enrolled in the School of Medicine. Albert D. Cross, M.D. Endowment Fund Selected recipients shall have a financial need and shall be planning to practice family medicine in a rural area. Albert J. Campbell, MD, and Janet Beaven Campbell One or more annual scholarship awards shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Scholarship Endowment Medicine. Scholarship award for medical students who are members of the medical honorary society, Alpha Alpha Omega Alpha Scholarship Endowment (AOA) Omega Alpha (AOA). One or more annual awards shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Medicine. Preference Barbara H. Baker Domann Medical Student Scholarship shall be given to students from the Southwest Missouri area with a demonstrated financial need. Two scholarships at $1,000 each shall be awarded per year. Scholarships can be renewed. Recipients Barron Family Scholarship in the School of Medicine should be Missouri residents. Betty Groshong Memorial Scholarship One or more annual awards shall be made to a student in the MU School of Medicine. One or two annual awards shall be given to students in the MU School of Medicine with the greatest Brim Family Medical Scholarship Endowment financial need. First preference shall be given to students who graduated from a high school from St. Francois and Iron Counties, Missouri. To provide one or more annual awards to students enrolled in the School of Medicine who have a Buchwach Family Medical School Scholarship Endowment demonstrated financial need. One or more annual award(s) shall be made to full-time student(s) from Missouri enrolled in the Carl D. Siegel, M.D. and Emily K. Siegel Medical School School of Medicine. Perference shall be given to students with high academic achievements and Scholarship Fund financial need. Charles B. Lusk Endowment Fund To provide one or more annual scholarships to deserving medical students in the School of Medicine. One or more annual awards shall be made to students in the School of Medicine. Selected recipients Charles H. and Lucille M. Bennett Medical Scholarship shall show academic achievement, have a demonstrated financial need and be making satisfactory Endowment progress toward a medical degree. University of Missouri School of Medicine Scholarships Annual scholarship award to a medical student. May assist in helping with rheumatology research that is completely in the hands of the resident or student (although receiving advice from Child Health Rheumatology Gift-Resident/Med Student faculty) 5. other possible funding, in keeping with the spirit of the intended use of these funds,as determined by the Chairman of the department. The funds may not be used: 1. By faculty for personal research or to fund research for which they have a student/resident " helping" 2. To help with publication costs of a faculty paper, that happens to have a resident or student as an added (non primary) author 3. For faculty travel of any kind First preference for use of the fund is one or more annual, summer scholarship awards shall be made to provide support for advanced training in neuroscience to all medical students who have completed their first or second year of training. When there are candidates who are equally qualified, special preference shall be given to those with an interest in multiple sclerosis and Christy M. Welliver Multiple Sclerosis Neuroscience neuroimmunology. The scholarships may be clinical or research, or a combination thereof. At the Scholarship Award discretion of the Dean of the School of Medicine, funds may also be used to support research stipends, professional development, teaching materials, travel, and staff support for post-doctoral fellows in the Department of Neurology. Preference shall be given to students interested in neuroscience research and, specifically, multiple sclerosis. One or more annual awards of a minimum of $1,000 each shall be made to full-time students enrolled in the School of Medicine. The recipients must have completed the first year of medical Class of 1961 Endowment Fund school, with academic standing in the upper 50% of the class, and have a demonstrated financial need. The selected recipients must be residents of the State of Missouri. To support at least one MU medical student annually to undertake an international medical Class of 1975 International Medicine "Peace Through experience in the Republic of Georgia. This effort shall be coordinated with A CALL TO SERVE Health" Scholarship Fund in Honor of Dr. Mitchell J. INTERNATIONAL and the Georgia Country affiliates. As the endowment grows, the Class of 1975 Rosenholtz may elect to also fund medical research in addition to the externship. University of Missouri School of Medicine Scholarships One or more annual awards shall be made to full-time students in the MU School of Medicine. The recipient(s) shall have a sense of compassion, with a special sensitivity to the needs of the Claude K. Leeper, M.D. Scholarship Fund community, his/her fellow students, and his/her patients. It is assumed that the recipient will have a high potential for successful achievement in medicine, and a high level of academic achievement. One or more annual scholarship awards shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Colonel Michael E. Hayek, M.D. USAF Memorial Medicine. Preference shall be given to students from the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Additional Scholarship preference shall be given to students who graduated from the Chaminade College Preparatory School. One or more annual awards shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Medicine with a Conway A. Jones Endowed Scholarship demonstrated financial need. One or more annual scholarship awards of a minimum of $2,000 each shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Medicine who are medical students at the Springfield Clinical Campus. Applicants shall be scored based on the following criteria: a. Awards made only for Springfield Clinical Campus students: 1) (5 points) CoxHealth Connection (past employee, volunteer, family member is an employee or volunteer, Medical Explorer). 2) (4 points) Service Area connection (PSA): Barry County, Christian County, Greene County, Lawrence County, Stone County, Taney County or Webster County. As the PSA changes, these counties shall be updated accordingly**. 3) (3 points) Financial need. b. Awards made to students in the event MU discontinues CoxHealth¿s involvement CoxHealth Springfield Clinical Campus Scholarship Fund with the Springfield Clinical Campus: 1) (5 points) CoxHealth Connection (past employee, volunteer, family member is an employee or volunteer, Medical Explorer). 2) (3 points) Service Area connection (PSA): Barry County, Christian County, Greene County, Lawrence County, Stone County, Taney County or Webster County. As the PSA changes, these counties shall be updated accordingly. 3) (2 points) Clinical Campus Student 4) (2 points) Financial need. ** In the event the Springfield Clinical Campus is no longer in existence, the same criteria would be used for any student within the University of Missouri Health System (including students enrolled in the School of Medicine, the Sinclair School of Nursing and the School of Health Professions. One or more annual scholarship awards shall be given to students enrolled in the School of Medicine. Preference shall be given to students from rural areas of Missouri or from towns with Dee E. Fenner, M.D. and Charles F. Moss Endowed populations of 7,500 people or less. Additional preference shall be given to students from Lafayette Scholarship County, Missouri. Award may be renewed for an additional three years, for a total of four years, if the recipient is making satisfactory progress toward completion of his/her medical degree. One or more annual awards shall be made to Pre-Med or Medical Student at the University of Diane E. Carr and George P. Carr Scholarship Fund Missouri-Columbia. First preference shall be given to students who graduated from Helias High School in Jefferson City, Missouri. University of Missouri School of Medicine Scholarships One or more annual awards shall be made to full-time students enrolled in the School of Medicine.
