Article & photos by Brian Maloney Steve Denmeyer had kept a secret of sorts for much of his life. He’d been collect- ing Coca-Cola memorabilia since the age of fourteen, but only a few friends knew of his huge and ever-growing collection. Fast-forward a few decades and Steve decided it was time to part with the hundreds of soft drink artifacts, so he gave auc- tioneer Jim Arneson a call. And a few months later it was all on display in the Comfort Inn Ballroom in Deforest, Wisconsin, site of the November 9th auction. Winner of the day price wise: a classic 1930’s “lollipop” sidewalk sign that sold for a solid $1,175.
