In Russia, a new mechanism for public participa- tion in decision-making – «Open Government» – was implemented, and our experts are participating actively in this process. In 2012, the President of Russia affi rmed the Principles for State Environmental Policy. We at WWF proposed developing such a document during a meeting with Russia’s president in 2010, and now, fewer than two years later, our country has set its fi rst goals for what we hope to achieve in protecting the natural environment. Land of the Leopard National Park was created in Primorsky Krai, twelve years after our Igor Chestin proposal, and now the Far eastern leopard has reliable protection. This article analyses the impact of multifarious risks such as political and cultural on companies operations that deals in the fashion industry. Political risks and terrorism are exogenous risk-factors on which the company's strategist can hardly influence. However, a cultural risk-factor is amenable to management. Ignoring the last can reduce the investment effectiveness or even cause irreparable financial collapse. Introduction Over the past decade, many companies in the fashion industry attained exalted aims on their origin market – reaching new heights in economic development while constructing high bandwidth retail network and building intense customer communication. Though once they had faced the stagnation trend caused by market over- saturation posing a serious challenge to the ability to undertake previous tasks and gain new goals. Initially proposed by an environmental activist from Tomsk and subsequently approved by Presidential Decree, 2013 was declared as being the Year of the Environment. What was done and what wasn’t done for the protection of the environment during such a special year? Three new national parks were established. Legal norms were introduced to enforce crimi- nal responsibility for the trading in skins and other parts of endangered species of wildlife. Cubs were born at the Breeding and Rehabilitation Center for the Persian leopard – not just one, but two pairs of leopards became parents. Our recommendations to restore the status of protected forests and to encourage the forest industry to change from one that is predominantly based on extensive development into one that is much more intensive were supported by the President of the Russian Federation.
