- Prior to her time at Winona State, Carlsen worked for six seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She joined the women’s basketball 7

0 staff as an assistant coach in 1998 and was promoted to head coach in 2000. She guided the Mavericks to postseason play in 2003, posting 0

2 the program’s best finish since the 1991-92 season. The Mavericks also maintained a 3.46 team GPA during Carlsen’s tenure.

Carlsen’s coaching career began in 1994 when she coached College of St Mary’s (Neb.) team for four seasons. She also served in the same capacity for one year at Wayne State College (Neb.), compiling a career record of 120-51 as a softball coach.

Carlsen played professional basketball from 1992-95 for the Nebraska Express of the Women’s Basketball Association. She was named team captain and earned a spot on the league’s all- team in 1995.

A 1992 graduate of Northwest Missouri State, Carlsen was a four-time all-conference basketball selection and an All-America scholar athlete. She also was an all-conference and all-region softball player. As a senior, she was named the 1992 Champion NCAA Female Athlete of the Year. She earned a master’s degree from UNO in 1994.

Carlsen is originally from Earling, Iowa. She is married to Chris Carlsen, assistant coach/recruiting coordinator for the Lewis team. They have four kids: Jacob (10), Zachary (7), Sam (6) and Alexis (2) and live in Romeoville.

Todd Huffman enters his first season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Lewis University.

Coach Huffman brings nine years of head coaching experience at the NCAA level.

Most recently he was the head women’s basketball coach at the University of Dubuque. His squads tied or established over 45 school records and had the most All-Academic and All-Iowa Inter- collegiate Athletic Conference selections of any coach in program history. In 2002-03, Huffman led the Lady Spartans to its first win- ning season in 16 years.

Prior to his position at the University of Dubuque, Huffman served as the head women’s basketball coach for Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa. During the 2001-02 season Huffman led the Lady Eagles to their first ever Southern Division Championship with a 13-5 re- cord. It marked the first championship in the program’s history. Additionally, Huffman had the most All-PAC and All-Academic selections in the program’s history.

Prior to taking the job at Eastern University, Huffman served as the head women’s basketball coach at the at Newark. While there the Lady Titans captured the Ohio Regional Campus Conference regular season title with a 19-9 record and a state runner-up in 1997-98, coached a two-time ORCC Player of the Year, four all-conference first team and two honorable mention selec- tions.

Huffman graduated with a master’s of Arts and Communications degree from the University of Dubuque in 2007. He graduated from Capital University with a degree in social work.

Huffman is a native of Columbus, Ohio.

During her two years at Nebraska-Omaha, Eggers started 46 games s and averaged 8.9 points, 3.2 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.

As a junior at Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Eggers averaged 11.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game for the Titans. She started 24 of 27 games and shot 44.8 percent from the field, 38.7 percent behind the three-point line and 76 percent from the free throw stripe. Eggers finished the season ranked third in the conference in three-point field goal percentage, sixth in assists and free throw percentage and ninth in blocked shots (0.81).

As a senior, Eggers started 26 games and averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 assists and 4.4 rebounds per contest. She shot 39.5 percent (123-311) from the field, 42 percent (37-88) behind the three-point line and 82.4 percent (103-125) from the free throw line. Eggers led the conference in assists, while ranking second in three-point field goal percentage, third in blocked shots (0.9), fourth in scoring, fifth in steals and assist/ turnover ratio (1.19), sixth in free throw percentage and 10th in three-point field goals (1.37).

Eggers graduated from Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a bachelor’s degree in radio/tv/film and a minor in communications.

Eggers is originally from Council Bluffs, Iowa.

18 About The GLVC The 14-member Great Lakes Valley Conference has made its name throughout the last 28 years as a power in NCAA Division II basketball. In the last few years, however, the GLVC has seen success in many sports, and the league can now claim itself as one of 2 0 the nation’s top in all NCAA Division II athletics. 0 6 -

The formation of the GLVC can be traced as far back as 1972 when the athletic directors of three member schools - Kentucky Wes- 0 7

leyan, Bellarmine and Indiana State University at Evansville (now the University of Southern Indiana) - began preliminary discussions G

about forming a basketball conference. Four years later, the University of Indianapolis and Saint Joseph’s College expressed interest. L V

On July 7, 1978, those schools - along with Ashland University - united to become the GLVC. C
