Brandon Steiner

Raised with his two brothers by a single mother in a tiny apartment in Brooklyn, Brandon Steiner came from truly humble beginnings to build the most successful sports marketing brand in the industry. Brandon started his education at John Dewey High School in Coney Island, NY. He then earned an undergraduate degree in accounting at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management from Syracuse in 1981.

Success didn’t come easy, and in his career Brandon soldiered through countless peaks and valleys – both professionally and personally – having to reinvent himself at almost every turn. Brandon started as a manager in the Hyatt hotel chain, transitioned into food service – managing the Hard Rock Cafe in its glory days on 57th Street in City, then managed the Sporting Club, NYC’s first true sports bar. It was in these last two posts that Brandon began to work with professional athletes, hiring them for restaurant events, then representing them as they negotiated the world of corporate appearances and speaking engagements. Sports marketing was where Brandon found his true niche, eventually earning a reputation as one of the gurus of the industry.

Brandon has become a permanent fixture in the media and is a regular on ESPN Radio 1050 along with his co-hosting duties on Yankees-Steiner: Memories of the Game which is prominently featured on the YES Network.

Brandon is commonly utilized as an expert commentator on all issues involving sports and is regularly featured on national news networks including CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, ESPN and in newspapers such as and The Wall Street Journal. Most recently he made several appearances on the MLB Network while promoting the MLB Fan Cave.

In 2003, Brandon published his first book, The Business Playbook: Leadership Lessons from the World of Sports. The Business Playbook was supported by a national book tour which brought Brandon to guest lecture at some of the top business schools in the country including: The Harvard Business School, The Kellogg School of Business, Columbia and Yale among others. Brandon’s motivational speaking engagements have put him in front of Fortune 500 companies ranging from hotel chains to real estate companies and he is often the featured guest speaker at trade conventions.

Brandon works closely with corporations to align them with athletes who can promote their products. He maintains relationships with hundreds of current and former professional athletes including Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Eli Manning, Martin Brodeur, Mark Messier & Jeremy Lin.

Perhaps Brandon’s biggest home run to date is his exclusive deal with the New York Yankees. In 2004, he announced the launch of an unprecedented partnership, Yankees- Steiner Collectibles, to provide fans with access to authentic Yankees memorabilia and incredible experiences at Yankee Stadium. In short, Brandon has figured out how to bring the fans closer to the game. In 2008, he enhanced this partnership by gaining exclusive rights to the disassembled Old Yankee Stadium. Fans were offered the once in a lifetime opportunity to take home seats, signs, bricks from Monument Park, and hundreds of other unique pieces to relive their memories from years past and for generations to come.

This partnership proved to be hugely successful and Steiner has launched multiple partnerships since. Brandon currently has exclusive partnerships with two of the most beloved Universities in American Sports: and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Steiner Sports also has partnerships with the Dallas Cowboys and , which includes both the and New York Rangers.

Brandon was instrumental in creating the David Falk Sports Management Program at Syracuse University and is a Founding Member. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Syracuse Athletics. As part of Steiner Sports’ partnership with Syracuse, Brandon introduced a program where Syracuse students can be directly involved in working at Steiner Sports.

Brandon devotes most of his limited free time to several charities including Family Services of Westchester, which helps provide quality social and mental health services to strengthen families, children and individuals. With Brandon’s help, Family Services of Westchester was able to open two homes for teenage boys and teenage girls with no place to call home. The homes give the children hope and provide opportunities to have better lives.

Brandon resides in Scarsdale, New York with his wife Mara and his two children. He still enjoys rooting for the Orange during the NCAA tournament and loves playing basketball with his friends.
