MBDA Wins Contract for New Albatros NG System

MBDA has been awarded the first contract for Albatros NG, a brand new CAMM-ER based air defence system. The order, from an undisclosed international customer, marks a further validation of the appeal of the CAMM air defence family and paves the way for further acquisitions by the same customer and other Navies. Albatros NG is a new generation Naval Based Air Defence (NBAD) system, based on the CAMM-ER, which is the extended range variant of the Common Anti-air Modular Missile (CAMM) family, delivered to customers around the world for both ground based and na- val air defence. When Erica Hellandsjo first worked on the National Ad- vanced Surface-to-Air Missile System mission, known as NASAMS, she knew exactly what she wanted to do after the military. Now she works with NASAMS on the civilian side, supporting air defence coverage of the United States National Capital Region, or NCR. Economic Cooperation between UAE and Israel: A Qualitative Approach to Peace and Development Diplomacy

Since the announcement of the signing of the peace agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel in August last year, it has become clear that one of the most important objectives of this agreement is to inaugurate a new phase based on peace and development diplomacy and build economic partnerships between the countries and people of the region in order to achieve the aspirations for security and stability on basis of mutual invest- ments and technological collaboration. As such, some aspects of the UAE’s announcement of the establishment of a US$10 billion fund aimed at invest- ing in strategic sectors in Israel can be highlighted. In this issue, Nation Shield sheds light on the importance, contexts and goals of this initiative for the mu- tual relations between the two countries.
