V.Z. Akopyan THE DISCUSSION ON THE ADMINISTRATIVE CENTER OF MYASNIKOVSKY DISTRICT (1920s) The article discusses the status of the city of Nakhichevan-on-Don. The city was founded by the Crimean Armenians in 1779, and in 1926-1928 it was the administrative center of the Armenian Myasnikovsky district. No single national district in the South of Russia had an administrative center in the city. Proclamation of Nakhichevan as the administrative center of the district enjoyed support among not only local officials and members of their families but the public at large, as they believed it conveyed deep national meaning. The leaders of the region and the district pursued a different goal. Having proclaimed Nakhichevan the center of the district, they tried to prevent the supporters of the Gadzievs clan that used to hold leading official positions in the district from regaining them. It was planned to relocate the center to Chaltyr or the Crimea as soon as Gadzievs’s influence was eliminated. The author shows that in the year following the creation of Myasnikovsky district the higher management began to exert pressure on the Armenian authorities with the aim of making their own decisions about the transfer of the center of New Nakhchivan in one of large villages. In the discussion on the status of Nakhichevan as a district centre the fate of the city was under question. Without the consent of indigenous Armenian population of the Don, in 1928 the Central district of Nakhichevan was moved to the village of Crimea, and then to Chaltyr. In the same year, Nakhichevan was annexed to the city of Rostov-on- Don. Key words: The South of Russia, North-Caucasus region, Nakhichevan-on- Don, the Don Armenians, national district, administrative center. А. I.A. Anuprienko CONTEMPORARIES AND HISTORIANS ON MATRIMONY IN THE ITALIAN SOCIETY IN XIV – XV: DISCUSSIONS ON THE FAMILY AND MARRIAGE The article examines the views of contemporaries and historians on the relationship of spouses, family and marriage in the Italian society at the turn of the 14th-15th centuries. The analysis is conducted in the light of humanistic views that played a big role not only in the cultural, but also in the political life of the Italian society of the quattrocento period. The culture of Italian Renaissance favored the dialogue as the most significant sociocultural problems were discussed in the form of debates, and then they were transformed into everyday practice and became the norm. The concepts of humanists convey the need for a family as the main motive. Being the foundation of the secular organization of people, in the hands of theorists the family becomes an instrument for understanding and organizing the world, therefore society and the state paid much attention to this aspect. Historians studying the views of Giovanni Morelli, Leon Batista Alberti, Giovanni Boccaccio, Paolo da Certaldo, Kolyuchcho Salutati, Bernardino of Siena and Giannozzo Manetti concluded that humanistic thought produced a significant change in the mentality of society in the following century. The author suggests that the views on marriage were not exclusively Tuscan or Florentine, but it is quite certain that the new family relations originally appeared in Tuscany and Florence, and later on in other European societies. Key words: Tuscan marriage model, family, humanism, Italy, later Middle Ages, normative-value systems. В. A.V. KAMRAN IMANOV Tall Armenian Tales: a Guide to the “Art” of Heritage Thievery KAMRAN IMANOV * Tall Armenian Tales: a Guide to the “Art” of Heritage Thievery The book - “Tall Armenian Tales”, presented to the reader’s attention, consists of two thematic sections. Chapter I, entitled “I came, I saw, I... stole”, is about the misappropriation and armenization of intellectual property of the Azerbaijani people, intellectual plagiarism of the Azerbaijani folklore, dastans (epics) and other epic works, the desire to seize the Azerbaijani bayati (Azerbaijani folk poems), proverbs and sayings. The book also narrates about the “armenization” of tales, anecdotes, music and other samples of folk genre. What is the common of these various manifestations of Armenian plagiary shown in the chapter “I came, I saw, ..., I stole”? The fact is that, firstly, these “tales” do not have an Armenian origin, but only an Armenian presentation. These tales are alien to the Armenian people; in addition, these are the same “anecdotes” in allegorical meaning of this term in the form of absurdities - false statements shown in Chapter II - “The Theatre of Absurd.” PREFACE .............................................................................................. 6 CHAPTER I. “I came, I saw,.. .1 stole”: about the Armenian tradition of misappropriation of the Azerbaijani cultural heritage ............................................................... 8 §1. “I c a m e , w h i c h briefly tells about the mass settlement of the Armenians in the South Caucasus .............................. 9 2 TABLE OF CONTENTS §2. This study is aimed at analyzing rural accommodation facilities, identifying the list of basic and additional services of rural hospitality enterprises, such as accommodation services, catering, excursions and leisure activities for guests, taking into account the local authentic experience. The article reveals the concept and essence of rural tourism, justifies the relevance and expediency of the development of accommodation facilities as a component of the rural tourism infrastructure of the Rostov region. 1 Introduction The combination of hotels and other accommodation facilities acts as the main element of the concept of «tourism industry». It is the accommodation facilities that are the main component of the tourism infrastructure, since the accommodation service is a key element of the tourism product. Thanks to the emerging infrastructure, tourist resources are being developed, their attractiveness and accessibility for tourists are increasing, and the tourist capacity of the territory is growing. Thus, hotel services are the basis of the tourism offer, including that of the rural tourism. In this sphere, they take the form of accommodation in thematic rural accommodation facilities, farm guest houses and guest room rentals. According to the UNWTO data, rural tourism is one of the five main strategic directions of tourism development in the world. In developed European countries this type of tourism brings about 20-30% of the total revenue within the tourism industry.

Urban environment is a favourable locus for entrepreneurship and living, accumulating a significant share of regional and national administrative, financial and human resources, concentrating advanced public infrastructure and social sector services. In the process of regional development, the integration and coherence between cities strengthen, the functions are redefined, and the specialisation deepens, while the role of the central city(-ies) is reinforced. Consideration of inter-city intra- agglomeration socioeconomic integrity and functional interconnectivity is vital for efficient governance. However, the blurred boundaries of urban agglomerations impede elaboration of place-specific development policies on urban and regional growth. Our study is aimed at delimitation of urban agglomeration structure around the Rostov-on- Don – one of the ten largest cities of Russia and the administrative centre of the Southern federal district. Results suggest that Rostov agglomeration continues to evolve with a different level of integrity between city clusters of the three agglomeration arcs. We find that industrial clustering and transportation network determine the developmental trajectory of the urban agglomeration, shaping its spatial configuration and causing path- dependency.
