Available from Amazon and through the UK publisher direct: http://bit.ly/2f9Ufgn Topographic Maps Price Change Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) is currently consulting on proposed changes to the price we charge for our paper topographic maps as well as the way they are printed. But before we consider making any changes we want to hear from you and your members. These proposals reflect changes to the way people use our maps. In particular, fewer paper maps are sold these days as people prefer to download digital versions. A consultation document with more detail on these proposals as well as information on how to provide feedback is available at our website. We'd appreciate if you can share the following short item with your members (see below). You may wish to use in your website or newsletters. We’re also keen to meet to discuss these proposals and the reason for them in more detail if that is useful for you. Please don't hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions about this. The consultation will close on 28 November 2016. Instruction Course Award for a young woman NZAC member Charles MacMurray, a Nelson/Marlborough section member, recently made a generous donation to the Club. His wife, the late Sheila MacMurray, was also an accomplished climber whose achievements included the first all-woman, unguided ascent of Mt Cook in 1953. Part of Charles’ donation ($550) has been set aside as a one-off award for a young woman NZAC member to attend an NZAC instruction course. Please email Penny Brothers, [email protected] by November 13, 2016 with a short paragraph outlining your climbing background and aspirations, and which course you plan to do. Applications are now open for the Antarctic Heritage Trust’s Inspiring Explorers Expedition 2017 This is an opportunity of a lifetime for up to four young New Zealanders to participate in a heavily sponsored expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula in February 2017. Weather and conditions permitting, the team will attempt a guided ascent of Mt Scott. The expedition aims to encourage young people both to explore the physical world to educate and inspire them, as well as to challenge those participating to inspire others to explore. More information and applications are at https://www.nzaht.org/pages/inspiring-explorers-2017 Christmas Gift Ideas - New Books Out A Bunk For The Night https://alpineclub.org.nz/product/a-bunk-for-the-night/ In addition there’s a few book launches in the next couple of weeks for the Himalayan Trust Fundraiser of the book ‘Outdoor Appetite’. The NZAC is supporting this with advertising those events and pointing members in the right direction to purchase the book. If too late to advertise the launches for your next issues, would you all mind promoting the book with the purchase link instead, please. Currently the link says pre-orders, but I expect it to be straight ordering with the start of the launches from 27 Oct in Auckland, 3 Nov ChCh and 10 Nov Wellington. See our events calendar for details on those, but if you look right now, the delay between entering the events in WA and the end post on the site will show the events looking wonky. It can take a few hours to come across: https://alpineclub.org.nz/events/ Here’s the link to purchase the book: New Book- Outdoor Appetite Mouth-watering photography by Lindsay Keats complements the wide range of tried and true recipes, which included contributions from the family of Sir Edmund Hillary, actress Joanna Lumley, Adventure Consultant's Guy Cotter and many more. All proceeds from the sale of Outdoor Appetite will go to support the work of the Himalayan Trust in Nepal and fund rebuilding schools and training teachers. Founded by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1960, the Himalayan Trust NZ works to improve the health, education and wellbeing of the people of Nepal. It provided emergency aid for affected communities in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake of April 2015 and is now working to support long-term recovery. http://himalayantrust.org/product/outdoor-appetite/ Annual Tukino Rock Climbing Camp Where: Tukino Lodge and Ski Field, Mt Ruapehu Date: 4 January 2017 – 8 January 2017 More info here: https://alpineclub.org.nz/single- event/?event_id=2364377 Upcoming Trips Trips When Contact Wall/Crag Climbing Text 021 243 7381 if you Kelly Cooney want to climb. Palavras-chave: Cinema; Turismo de Cinema; The Lord of the Rings; Waikato; Nova Zelândia. Abstract The production of cinematographic works is today one of the most powerful marketing tools to increase the flow of visitors, and creating strategies to attract audiovisual productions is one of the most important trends of the global tourism market. It is, therefore, in the context of the film tourism, which runs this reflection which consists, on the one hand, in presenting the state of the art on the subject and, on the other, in the analysis of a case study, which will focus on the film adaptations of a trilogy of literary works.
