DELAWARE COUNTY INTERMEDIATE UNIT BOARD MEETING Acting as Agent for DELAWARE COUNTY AREA VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL SCHOOL BOARD

October 7, 2020

A meeting of the Technical Schools Board was called to order at 7:44 p.m. by President Edward Cardow. The meeting was held in hybrid mode due to the COVID-19 quarantine. Some board members attended in person at 200 Yale Avenue, Morton, PA 19070, and some members attended virtually via Zoom.

Dr. Edelberg sat as the executive officer of the Board. A quorum was present.

Ms. Monroe moved and Mr. Harris seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Dr. Michele Downie, Board representative for the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, effective August 26, 2020.

Ms. Karwoski moved and Ms. Rovinski seconded the motion to appoint Mr. Lawrence Kutys, Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, to fulfill the term August 27, 2020 through June 30, 2021, vacated by Dr. Michele Downie.

BUSINESS

1) Approve acceptance of DCTS – COVID 19 – Health & Safety Grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency in the amount of $90,000.00 to address COVID-19 related health and safety needs.

FACILITIES

1) Contract with Eastern Generator to provide preventative maintenance on the generators at the Aston, Marple and Folcroft sites from October 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022 at an annual cost of $3,741.48 (prorated to $3,010.41 for 2020-2021).

2) Contract with Quench to provide Bottleless Water Stations at Intermediate Unit locations from October 8, 2020 to June 30, 2023 at a monthly cost of $43.00/unit. One time installation charge of $25.00/unit.
