Cold Spring

The historic Village of Cold Spring is a small community in southeastern New York that is situated on the east bank of the Hudson River. It was established in 1846 and enjoyed a booming industrial economy throughout the 19th century with the success of the West Point Foundry, which became famous for the manufacture of the Parrott Cannon of Civil War fame and other munitions. The community has since shifted from its industrial past to an economy dependent on tourism. Main Street is the focal point of a well- preserved National Historic District and is lined with novelty and antique stores, restaurants, and residences. The village is across the river from West Point in the most scenic region of the Hudson Highlands.

No guide. Soukup Farms is a third-generation family farm, producing and selling pure New York Maple Syrup. Started as a hobby in the early 1950’s the operation expanded to 800 taps in the 1990’s and today has more than 3,000 taps in three sugarbushes. With a renewed interest in the maple production process the third generation of syrup producers has moved to a new sugarhouse and is actively expanding the business. Guest can purchase maple products in the farm shop.

12 Minute Man National Historical Park (Lexington/Concord)

Visit the birthplaces of American liberty and 19th century literature. At Minute Man National Historical Park, the opening battle of the Revolution is brought to life as visitors explore the battlefields and structures associated with April 19, 1775 and witness the American revolutionary spirit through the writings of the Concord authors.

The Old North Bridge

The Old North Bridge location, famous for the “shot heard around the world,” today seems more like a peaceful walker’s oasis with the placid Concord River, a quiet country path leading to “secret gardens” and the stately visitor center known as the Buttrick Mansion.
