Special Advertising Section Thursday, September 18, 2014 Johnson Avenue Block FestivAl 2014 KRVC — Building Community, SALES | RENTALS | RELOCATION | NEW DEVELOPMENTS | RETAIL | MORTGAGE | PROPERTY MANAGEMENT | TITLE INSURANCE One Block Party at a Time Since 2010, KRVC has organized numerous festivals in the communities of Riverdale and Woodlawn. These festivals serve to enrich our community by bringing diverse groups, across all ages, races and religions, together. Our goal is to create, build, and grow a vibrant, connected and engaged community for its residents and businesses by leveraging the universal power of live music, theater, street performers, original art, children’s activities and more. Most of our festivals have been held on commercial corridors, engaged the local businesses, generated media attention and been attended by thousands of people. KRVC has partnered with the local Merchants Associations for some of our events, which have served to promote the local businesses on those blocks. Our local elected officials, Community Board 8 and the 50th Police Precinct have also played instrumental roles in making these events, some of which have required the closure of major streets, possible. EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY. KRVC’s goal is to revitalize our community, boost our businesses and create a unique cultural experience through these festivals. Our festivals are partially funded by a generous grant from the Bronx Council on the Arts and by many local business sponsors. State Senator Klein has also sponsored our last several festivals and has allocated funding to KRVC so that we can purchase our own stage, sound equipment, tents, amusement rides and even a truck to transport the items to our events! • Logic New Album Download
Logic new album download Continue Sean Farner For many music lovers, album art is as much a part of the experience as music. When you play a song on an iPhone that doesn't have album art attached, it detracts from the feeling that you're listening to one part of the larger collection. That's why Apple has included a feature in iTunes to automatically download album artwork for songs that are missing from these images. Using this feature and sync your iPhone, you'll be able to replace the album art and get the full album listening experience on your device. Open the iTunes software and click on the Music button on the left sidebar. Click on the Advanced menu option at the top of the iTunes app and then click on the Get Album artwork button. This feature scans through your iTunes library and automatically downloads and inserts album art into songs that don't yet have it. When the process is complete, move on. Plug in the 30-pin iPhone USB cable connector at the bottom of your iPhone, and connect the other end to the available USB port on your computer. Click Sync Now if your iPhone is not automatically in sync. Once the song is synchronized, your iPhone must now have matching album cover images. Album art is useful for identifying albums when viewing a digital music library. When you sync music files, an album work usually appears on a portable device. The cover is usually embedded in music files - but not always. If you don't have album art for all the albums in your music collection, you can download works of art from free websites, but if you need to update a lot of music in your library, this method can be tedious.

  • 2017 High Sierra Music Festival Program
WELCOME! Festivarians, music lovers, friends old and new... WELCOME to the 27th version of our annual get-together! This year, we can’t help but look back 50 years to the Summer of Love, the summer of 1967, a year that brought us the Monterey Pop Festival (with such performers as Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin and The Grateful Dead) which became an inspiration and template for future music festivals like the one you find yourself at right now. But the hippies of that era would likely refer to what’s going on in the political climate of these United States now as a “bad trip” with the old adage “the more things change, the more they stay the same” coming back into play. Here we are in 2017 with so many of the rights and freedoms that were fought long and hard for over the past 50 years being challenged, reinterpreted or revoked seemingly at warp speed. It’s high time to embrace the two basic tenets of the counterculture movement. First is PEACE. PEACE for your fellow human, PEACE within and PEACE for our planet. The second tenet brings a song to mind - and while the Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band gets all the attention on its 50th anniversary, it’s the final track on their Magical Mystery Tour album (which came out later the same year) that contains the most apropos song for these times. ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE. LOVE more, fear less. LOVE is always our answer. Come back to LOVE.

  • Annual Report Dear Friends
2015 Annual Report Dear Friends, Now in our 11th year of operation, Rock the Earth continues to be a small but highly impactful advocacy organization. Since our inception, we have tackled 36 different issues, partnered with over 500 musical artists and their fans, and conducted education and outreach at thousands of concerts. In addition to our established Summer Tour, we also have permanent, year-round advocacy teams in Denver, Chicago, New York City, Washington D.C./Baltimore and Los Angeles. After all this work, we still feel like we’re just getting started. As you will read, 2015 was a pivotal year for Rock the Earth. We continued to monitor the historic settlement of the Roan Plateau. We also enjoyed a significant victory with the Presidential designation of Browns Canyon National Monument. We received an unplanned bequest from the John Denver Aspen Glow Fund. Rock the Earth was honored by the bequest, which has provided us with our first ever operational reserve. Also, Rock the Earth was selected to participate in the J.P. Morgan Chase “Code for Good” coding marathon in New York City last fall. As a result, Rock the Earth will soon have customized information integration technology, which will dramatically streamline how we process information from our organizing efforts. Transitions were an important component of 2015. Founder and Executive Director Marc Ross, began his transition away from Rock the Earth and on to new opportunities. In December, Rock the Earth welcomed Paige Heydon, a seasoned leader in Colorado philanthropy and non- profit management. As the President of Rock the Earth, I can tell you that we are extremely proud of what we have accomplished and excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
