Generating of stretchable glyphs is also discussed. Build- ing of Type 1 fonts for Arabic typesetting with MetaType1 (“LM-ization”) is under development process. 1 Introduction The current text describes selected “technical tech- niques” of creating, modifying and maintaining out- line fonts for use with Arabic typography. We start with some font adaptations and modi- fications using FontForge for relatively simple glyph transformations. Executing more complex changes would be inefficient.
