Most of it is under meadows and pastures (21.098 ha or 77,6%). Livestock fund in municipality of Prijepolje consists of 7.165 heads of cattle; 16.366 sheep, 2.742 pigs and 1.552 goats. The rural area of the municipality represents a significant however still unused resource, not just for conventional food production but for development of sustainable organic animal husbandry production. Municipality has significant potential for tourism development. Touristic attractions could be mountain biking, biking, paragliding, canoeing, rafting, nature walking, free climbing, hunting and fishing and religious tourism.     It is often said that there is no more beautiful, more divine region, with more hospitable people than the tourist region of Western Serbia – an area that comprises the Uzice region, sprawled between the boundaries of Sumadija, the Raska District, the River Drina and the Montenegrin border.     COMPETITIVENESS OF DESTINATIONS WITHIN THE RURAL TOURISM CLUSTER: ZLATAR, ZLATIBOR Original scientific paper Economics of Agriculture 3/2014 UDC: 338.48-44(1-22) COMPETITIVENESS OF DESTINATIONS WITHIN THE RURAL TOURISM CLUSTER: ZLATAR, ZLATIBOR Sanja Pavlović11, Gordana Čavlin22 Summary Cluster analysis is gaining increasing importance in the contemporary development of tourism. These are mostly areas that have similar tourist values. This paper presents the competitiveness of tourist destinations in the cluster of rural tourism Zlatar, Zlatibor, as defined in the Master Plan for Sustainable Development of Rural Tourism in Serbia. Having used AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) criteria pairs have been first compared, and then the alternatives (villages of Zlatar and Zlatibor). The seven criteria used in this paper are the following: factors and attractors, accessibility and infrastructure, accommodation facilities, unemployment, experience in rural tourism, proximity of the marketplace, and seasonality. The AHP method has been used to determine relations between the influence factors and the dominance of one factor in relation to another.It has been noted a relatively weak dominance of the villages of Zlatibor, by all criteria, except when it comes to unemployment, which is dominated by the villages of Zlatar. Therefore, the condition for the development of a model of development in rural areas is the adequate regionalization, based on comparative advantages and analysis of indicators of development and quality of life (Todorović, Štetić, 2009).
