Tracy S. Wanamaker, MSEd, MT-BC is a Visiting Instructor at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, where she coordinates the Music in Special Education Program. In addition to her duties at Crane, she has a thriving private music therapy practice in Northern New York, where she works in a wide range of clinical areas including special education, adults with developmental disabilities, and dementia care. Tracy is active as a consultant and clinician for professionals, teachers and parents across the United States,

and has presented her research at many local, state, regional, and national Faculty Lecture Presentation 2019–2020 Season NAfME and AMTA conferences.

Melissa Natale-Abramo is a music educator, enrichment specialist and Department Chairperson for the Fine & Practical Arts at North Salem MS/HS in North Salem, NY. Dr. Abramo holds degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University, Northwestern University, and SUNY Potsdam/Crane Crane Education School of Music. Her dissertation investigated the construction of instrumental music teacher identity from a poststructural perspective. Melinda Phoenix-Heart is a proud Crane alumna, earning both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music here at SUNY Potsdam. She is in her 13th year of teaching, and currently teaches K-5 General Music and 4-5 Chorus at North Broad Elementary and Durhamville Elementary, both located in the Oneida City School District. Melinda feels honored and grateful to be among the distinguished women educators receiving recognition this evening.

Marichelle Weill holds a BM(’12) and MM(’16) in Music Education from Crane School of Music. Ms. Weill is currently at East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School where she teaches Orchestra, Music & Media, and Life Skills. She has performed in a variety of symphonic orchestras, rock orchestras, chamber ensembles, musical theater productions, and rock bands. Marichelle has focused her career on using music education as a tool to teach kindness, creativity, and compassion to her students.

Students

Kayleigh Junz is a Music Education Major with concentrations in Voice, Choir, and Special Music Education. Her passion for music education is the driving force in her life, and she enjoys every opportunity to learn and grow to adapt her teaching for her future students. She is currently finishing up her senior year at the Crane School of Music as the President of Crane’s NAfME Chapter and has previously also served as the Vice President of Crane’s chapter of ACDA. Kayleigh looks forward to student teaching in the fall of 2020 in the Hudson Valley area.

Diana McEntee is a senior music education major with a concentration in piano pedagogy. Diana transferred into Crane, after graduating from Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ, to continue her journey as a future public- school educator. She loves everything pertaining to general music education, especially jamming on ukulele and guitar! When not in Crane completing her final semester before student teaching, Diana can be found teaching piano privately, playing organ and piano in church, cooking, frolicking in the great outdoors and undertaking arduous sewing projects.

Maggie Rempe is a senior at The Crane School of Music majoring in Music Education. Additionally, she has concentrations in Special Education in Music and Piano Pedagogy. Currently she is in her student teaching semester, participating in the Brentwood Field Experience in Brentwood UFSD on Long Island.
