These admission arrangements apply to all community and voluntary controlled schools, as listed in Part three, admissions within the borough for the school year 2020-21 and for subsequent years, subject to any review. Compulsory school age Children reach compulsory school age at the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday. Under the council’s policy, children may start school in the reception class in the September following their fourth birthday.
