Apple Jam – – AHDN Sessions / Anthology1 3rd June 1964 - Demo version without Ringo. Ringo had been taken ill, and after John, Paul and George practiced their stage set with temporary replacement Jimmy Nicol, they stayed on at Abbey Road and laid down three songs. These are NOT mentioned in Lewisohn's "Complete Recording Sessions", as the tape of this session had been mis-filed and lay un-discovered until 1993 when it was found by engineer Allan Rouse !

The Beatles - - Revolver (Harrison) Lead vocal: George The backing track was recorded in five takes on June 2, 1966. George Harrison's third song on “Revolver,” was, he later said, "about the avalanche of thoughts that are so hard to write down or say or transmit." Once again Harrison had no idea what to call his composition. briefly kicked around random ideas, and the song was recorded under the working title “Laxton's Superb,” a type of apple. It later became known as “I Don't Know,” which was George’s answer when producer George Martin asked whether Harrison had come up with a title. By the day of the final mix (June 6, 1966), Harrison had settled on the title “I Want To Tell You.” Contains the first bass overdub on a Beatles record. Paul had his bass recorded on a different track really allowed for more options when it came time to mix the song. On U.S. album: Revolver - Capitol LP

2.43 BREAK

The Beatles - It's All Too Much (Harrison) - Yellow Submarine Recorded 25th May 1967 At De Lane Lea Music ’s London. Recorded a week before Sgt. Pepper was released. Truly a psychedelic song if there ever was one. Borrowing a bit from The Mersey’s hit “Sorrow” in the end.

George Harrison - Art of Dying – ATMP Written way back in 1966, but never considered for The Beatles, George thought the theme was too “way out”…George: “Everybody is worried about dying, but the cause of death (which most can’t figure out unless they are diseased) is birth, so if you don’t want to die you don’t get born! So the “art of dying” is when somebody can consciously leave the body at death, as opposed to falling down dying without knowing what’s going on.”…. And yes I do believe that’s Eric Clapton on lead guitar.
