USUAL NUMBER ADVANCING 30+ CCHL BANTAM DRAFT REGULATIONS Players from HEO and it’s leagues are eligible for the CCHL Bantam Protected Draft Each team selects ten rounds of Bantam players All selections are prioritized based on closeness to the home arena of the team Of the 120 selections, only 12 can be selected from over 100 km (Category 3) Any player selected by the team nearest his home (Category 1) goes to that team Players under 65 km (Category 2) are awarded by round to the nearest team These players are the property of the Junior A team to play on their U18 AAA club Any released players are free agents upon release and can join another team If no other team is interested, the player returns to his home AA district team AA Midget players become the affiliates of their respective district AAA teams NOTE: After the first 24 selections, teams who had a player move directly to the OHL at 16 receive a compensatory selection. (This year five players went directly from midget to the OHL so there are 5 such selections) In a means to provide assurance to players and families who are joining the U18 league as first year midgets, Compassionate Transfers are available for qualifying situations. The home residences must be over 65km from the home arena of the selecting team. There must be at least 3 teams nearer to the home residence. 3 teams placed in inverse order of Jr standings as priority selections. Requests are due on May 1 for anyone wishing to apply. Teams are able to select a maximum of 1 CT on May 8. Junior rights follow the U18 rights on transfer. CCHL REFUND POLICY RELEASED PLAYERS (TRADED OUTSIDE CCHL OR OUTRIGHT) RECEIVE A PRO RATED REFUND BASED ON TEAM GAMES PLAYED AS OF THE DATE OF RELEASE / 62 LEAGUE GAMES EQUIPMENT FEES ARE DEDUCTED FROM THE REFUND AMOUNT PRIOR TO PRO RATED CALCULATIONS.
