Lummukkakangas heath provides a home for wood grouse, three-toed woodpeckers, Ural owls, Siberian jays, European otters, and Siberian flying-squirrels. The Viitaneva- Storholmanneva wetlands bird population is noted for the diversity of its species and the number of mated pairs, including common cranes, European golden plovers, and wood sandpipers. Geese and swans spread out over the wetlands during migration season. The PaljakannevaÅkantmossen wetlands offer sightings of hen harriers, black woodpeckers, loons, honey buzzards, and golden plovers. Kirkkopakka Kirkkopakka is a reddish formation of granite boulders left over from the last ice age. This site is in Alahärmä, Ekola and is a place of many old and mysterious tales.     ACE’s Scandinavian Sojourn : A Southerner’s Perspective Story by: Richard Bostic, assisted by Ronny Cook When I went on the ACEspana trip back in 2009, it was by far one of the most amazing vacations I have ever experienced. In addition to getting to visit parks in a different culture than we see here, it is also a great opportunity to spend time with fellow enthusiasts and grow friendships while enjoying our common interests. When Scandinavia Sojourn was announced for the summer of 2011, I knew it was a trip I could not miss. Since the 2009 trip was my first trip to Europe I thought that there was no way the over- all experience could be better in Scandinavia. I was wrong. We landed in Helsinki, Finland around 1300 the day before we were required to be at the hotel to meet with the group. Helsinki is an interesting city and fairly new compared to many cities in Europe. Walking around the city you can see the Russian influence in the city’s architecture. In fact, many movies during the cold war would use Helsinki to shoot scenes that are supposed to be set in the Soviet Union. After making our way to the Crowne Plaza Hotel and getting a quick lunch at the hotel restaurant we decided to spend the remaining time that afternoon checking out some of the sites around our hotel. Some of these sites included the Temppeliaukio Church inside of a rock formation, the train station, Routatientori Square and National Theater, and a couple of the city’s art museums.

    View metadata, citation and similar papers at core.ac.uk brought to you by CORE provided by UCL Discovery 1 Christ vs. Communism: Communism as a Religious Social Problem in Finland’s Proto- Fascist Lapua Movement in the 1930s SAMI KOSKELAINEN AND TITUS HJELM1 Abstract This article traces the emergence of religious anti-communist discourse in Finland’s proto-fascist Lapua Movement in the 1930s. Applying constructionist social problems theory, it discusses the constructions of communism as a religious social problem, Christian piety as a solution to the problem of godless communism, and the religious legitimation of violence. The article argues that by identifying Christianity with the Finnish nation the construction of communism as a religious problem—itself an outcome of the influence of revivalist Lutheran ministers in the leadership of the movement—resonated with the broader audience, but that this indigenous religious nationalism lost support with the increasing belligerence of the movement. At the end of the 1920s Finland was a divided country. The Civil War of 1918, fought between the socialist “Reds” and the bourgeois and agrarian “Whites” in the aftermath of independence from (now Bolshevik) Russia, was a cultural trauma on par with the Spanish Civil War.1 The proportional death toll in the repression of the defeated Reds exceeded that of all other European civil conflicts in the inter-war era.2 Yet, despite the victory and the official banning of the Communist Party, some factions on the White side saw the re-emergence and 1 Sami Koskelainen has a Bachelor of Arts from University College London, School of Slavonic and East European Studies.

    RAPORTTEJA 2014 Kauhajoki–Kauhava palvelutasoselvitys KAUHAJOKI-KAUHAVA PALVELUTASOSELVITYS 2014 Tiivistelmä Kauhajoki-Kauhava kehityskäytävä on Etelä-Pohjanmaan valtasuoni, jonka muodostuu valtatiestä 19 ja kantatiestä 67 sekä Seinäjoki-Oulu ja Kaskisten radoista. Seinäjoen seudun vetovoima te- kee käytävästä nimensä mukaisesti Etelä-Pohjanmaan vilkkaimmin kehittyvän yrittämisen ja asumisen alueen. Palvelutasoselvityksen taustalla ovat käytävän käyttäjätarpeet. Kehityskäytävä Kauhajoki-Kauhava on maakunnan päätieverkossa tärkein liikenneväylä niin henkilöliikenteen kuin kuljetustenkin kannalta. Kauhajoki-Kauhava -käytävällä korostuvat seudullisen pendelöintilii- kenteen, vapaa-ajanmatkustuksen, ostos- ja asiointiliikenteen ja pitkämatkaisen sekä paikallisten kuljetusten tarpeet. Kantatien liikennemäärät ovat nykytilanteessa keskimäärin 3600-19100 ajoneuvoa vuorokaudes- sa. Raskaan liikenteen osuus on 7-15 %. Liikennemäärien kannalta vilkkain osuus sijaitsee Ilma- joen ja Lapuan välillä. Seinäjoen taajaman kohdalla liikkuu lähes 20000 ajoneuvoa vuorokaudes- sa. Liikenne-ennuste vuosille 2025 ja 2040 perustuu valtakunnalliseen tieliikenne-ennusteeseen ja on muodostettu raskaille ja kevyille ajoneuvoille erikseen. Liikenne kasvaa Seinäjoen seudulla enemmän kuin koko maassa tai Etelä-Pohjanmaan maakunnassa keskimäärin. Kehityskäytävän palvelutasotavoitteet perustuvat valtakunnallisiin ja alueellisiin tavoitteisiin sekä työn aikana järjestettyyn työpajaan. Turvallisia ja hyvin ennakoitavissa olevia matkoja tavoitellaan kulkutavasta riippumatta.

Jos haluat terveystarkastukseen, ota yhteyttä TE-toimistoon tai varaa aika suoraan oman alueesi työnhakijoiden terveystarkastukseen. Työnhakijoiden terveystarkastusten toiminta-ajatuksena on edistää työttömien terveydentilaa, hyvinvointia sekä työ- ja toimintakykyä. Omasta työkyvystä huolehtiminen helpottaa uudelleen työllistymistä ja työhön palaamista sekä ylläpitää työnhakijan henkistä ja fyysistä hyvinvointia. Terveystarkastusten ajatuksena on ennaltaehkäistä mahdollisten terveysongelmien syntymistä. Mikäli terveystarkastuksessa löytyy esim. vamma tai sairaus, tähän liittyvä erityinen palvelutarve voidaan ottaa huomioon kaikissa julkisissa työvoimapalveluissa.
