The approved nominees for the Scholarships for Graduates Studies (SGS)-local offered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for A.Y. 2017-2018 included 96 faculty members (organic and non-organic) from Cebu Technological University.

Creating a stark contrast from last year’s 18 scholars, the present batch has 96 including the third batch. Most of them pursue master’s degree with 54 while the rest take doctorate degree with 39 and dissertation with three (3).

The university’s huge margin of success swung the spotlight back on a long line of stages that ensured all submissions from each nominee com- pliant with CHED’s set of guidelines. The list of approved nominees per CHED’s official site is thus provided: The 3rd batch of scholars is not included in the list.

Dr. Rosalyn Alburo who was tasked by CTU President Rosein A. Sitting down with Dr. Zarmie Liz Briones, one of Tuburan Campus’ professors, Cumad shared thoughts after the unprecedented feat in his life. Most importantly his note on wanting to have a scholarship for a master’s degree set the tone for his future.
