    Glossary Academic Year: A year beginning on August 1 of one calendar year and ending on July 31 of the following calendar year. Administrator: A USAC Regional Coordinator or the person designated by the Local Association. Amateur Class: The amateur class comprises riders in the senior/elite age group (19-29) who are not members of UCI teams, or, in the case of women, not on domestic elite teams. Bicycle Race: Competition among persons using bicycles where awards are given on the basis of relative performance. Cannibalizing: Taking any part or component from one bicycle to repair another, or to improve the result of another. Category: An ability-based designation for riders. Riders in the same age class may race in groups based on ability category. Class: An age-based designation, such as junior, U23, Elite, or master. Club Ride: A training ride open only to members of bicycle clubs that are members of USA Cycling or a race that is open only to members of one such club and any participant who holds a USA Cycling racing license must be licensed as a member of that club. Combined Division Race: A race in which riders from both divisions compete. Criterium: A road event held on a small course entirely closed to traffic. The length of the course is between 800 m and 5 km. The minimum width throughout the course should be 7 m. Cross Country: A massed-start competition that is held on a circuit course comprising forest roads, forest or field trails, and unpaved dirt or gravel roads.

    Shoes Approved by World Athletics - as at 01 October 2021 1. This list is primarily a list concerns shoes that which have been assessed by World Athletics to date. 2. The assessment and whether a shoe is approved or not is determined by several different factors as set out in Technical Rule 5. 3. The list is not a complete list of every shoe that has ever been worn by an athlete. If a shoe is not on the list, it can be because a manufacturer has failed to submit the shoe, it has not been approved or is an old model / shoe. Any shoe from before 1 January 2016 is deemed to meet the technical requirements of Technical Rule 5 and does not need to be approved unless requested This deemed approval does not prejudice the rights of World Athletics or Referees set out in the Rules and Regulations. 4. Upon my election last November, I outlined my intention for World Sailing to communicate better with its Member National Authorities, Regional Associations, Class Associations, Committee members, and the hard-working volunteers that make our sport work, from the grassroots to the peak of performance. I hope that the introduction of these quarterly newsletters will help to achieve that. Open communication within our sport has always been important, but given the current climate, it is more crucial now than it has ever been. It is important that World Sailing takes the lead by sharing best practice, forming new ideas and creating inspiring content that touches all aspects of our sport. It is also vital that this material is well distributed across our community. It is a pity that we have not been able to meet face to face for so long, but I have enjoyed meeting and engaging with you directly and via our Regional Meetings. This exciting event will go down in history at the awesome Waukegan BMX track located at Henry Pfau Callahan Park and is expected to draw many spectators and participants. The one full-day event will kick off at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Athletes from all over Illinois will compete for 2007 NBL State points and awards of the day. These events are destined to be exciting for all of its attendees! The NBL Illinois State Qualifier will start Saturday morning with practice immediately after registration. Registration is from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. New riders can register and race the same day. Saturday’s event will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will continue on throughout the day and into the early evening. Don’t miss out on any of the exciting races! The NBL sanctions exciting local, state and national levels of BMX racing across the country and in Puerto Rico.
