Woodbridge School is of the top academic schools in , located in a beautiful part of the county, yet only one hour 20 minutes from London. We are seeking to appoint a talented and dynamic drama practitioner to enhance and contribute to the further development of our highly successful Drama Department.

You will be expected to: - Teach all grades of LAMDA examinations; - Coordinate LAMDA lessons in the school; - Manage another part-time LAMDA teacher; - Support the wider work of the drama department where appropriate, for example helping to direct a production; - Provide outstanding teaching and learning experiences to all our pupils.

The ability to assist students to prepare for Drama School auditions, as well as the connections to offer students perspective into the professional drama arena would be an advantage.

Drama is a real strength of Woodbridge School, with eight high quality pupil productions taking place every year. Drama is taught throughout the school, and individual LAMDA lessons are offered to all ages with the aim of ensuring as many pupils as possible have an opportunity to participate in drama in some form.

The department currently comprises of a Director of Drama, another full-time academic teacher and one other part-time teacher. In addition, there are two full-time theatre technicians. This role reports into the Director of Drama. It is a full-time position, but could be filled with a job-share arrangement for the right candidates.

The taught curriculum The curriculum at Woodbridge combines breadth with a strong focus on the major academic disciplines. It aims to provide each pupil with the essential intellectual skills needed for later study, including the ability to think critically and logically.

The diversity of the curriculum is continued right through the school to the sixth form, where 25 subjects are available for study at A Level.

The successful applicant is likely to have the following qualifications, knowledge and experience:

Qualifications/Experience  Significant theatre/drama/acting background and experience;  Ideally a recognised drama and/or teaching qualification;  Familiarity and/or experience of teaching LAMDAs exam syllabus requirements;  Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection issues.

Skills/Abilities  Strong communication and interpersonal skills;  Good administrative and organisational abilities;  Ability to create and maintain strong, supportive relationships with staff, parents, carers, pupils and the community.

Salary and Benefits The hourly rate is £26.12 per hour, plus an allowance for Coordinator duties.
