About Us Nalli, synonymous with Silk, was established in the year 1928 and has been a leader in the textile and retail business for over 80 years. An icon of South India, Nalli has become synonymous with silk or kanchipuram sarees. Nalli's success story has a fairy tale ring to it. Started as a small retail store for silk Sarees in Chennai by a young man called Nalli Chinnasami Chetty in 1928, the family-run shop did steady business for thirty years after which the grandson, Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti took over. In a radical departure from convention, Nalli Kuppusami decided that the shop would do no discount selling, an unheard-of prospect back in the 1950s. Since then it has been a pioneer in the field of textiles, leading the change for an entire industry. Nalli soon built up an image of unrivalled quality at reasonable prices; its roster of loyal clients also grew multifold. An 80 year brand with considerable equity in the South, Nalli's is still the popular destination of choice for silks and wedding sarees today. Today, Nalli's business focus has broadened, becoming not only a leading sari-retailer, but also one of the foremost manufactures and exporters of fabrics, apparel and home furnishings. -

Bangalore (Or ???????? Bengaluru, ['Be?G??U??U] ( Listen)) Is the Capital City O F the Indian State of Karnataka
Bangalore (or ???????? Bengaluru, ['be?g??u??u] ( listen)) is the capital city o f the Indian state of Karnataka. Located on the Deccan Plateau in the south-east ern part of Karnataka. Bangalore is India's third most populous city and fifth-m ost populous urban agglomeration. Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of In dia because of its position as nation's leading Information technology (IT) expo rter.[7][8][9] Located at a height of over 3,000 feet (914.4 m) above sea level, Bangalore is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year.[10] The city i s amongst the top ten preferred entrepreneurial locations in the world.[11] A succession of South Indian dynasties, the Western Gangas, the Cholas, and the Hoysalas ruled the present region of Bangalore until in 1537 CE, Kempé Gowda a feu datory ruler under the Vijayanagara Empire established a mud fort considered to be the foundation of modern Bangalore. Following transitory occupation by the Ma rathas and Mughals, the city remained under the Mysore Kingdom. It later passed into the hands of Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan, and was captured by the Bri tish after victory in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1799), who returned administr ative control of the city to the Maharaja of Mysore. The old city developed in t he dominions of the Maharaja of Mysore, and was made capital of the Princely Sta te of Mysore, which existed as a nominally sovereign entity of the British Raj. In 1809, the British shifted their cantonment to Bangalore, outside the old city , and a town grew up around it, which was governed as part of British India. -

The southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala are the perfect introduction to the wonders of India. Lush tropical landscapes, world-renowned temple complexes, neat colourful villages, gorgeous heritage accommodation, and a subtle, distinctive cuisine all make for a truly authentic experience. We will encounter many different facets of South Indian culture and history. Spend time strolling in the Life of Pi’s Indian Cote d’Azur town of Pondicherry, touring the thriving technicolour temples of Madurai and Trichy, exploring the extravagant courtyard mansions of Chettinad, and walking in the fragrant spice gardens and tea plantations of Periyar. Cooking demonstrations, privately hosted lunches, and presentations on topics as varied as temple architecture, early Indian painting, Ayurveda practice, and the continuity of cultural practices are all part of our very comprehensive trip. And throughout our journey, we will enjoy landscapes that are extraordinarily rich, full of colour and life. An optional extension to the palm-fringed backwaters of Kerala is the perfect way to relax at the end of an enriching and inspiring tour. Groundwater Level Dynamics in Bengaluru City, India

However, little is known about its sustainability, because of inadequate monitoring and evaluation. We deployed a dense monitoring network in 154 locations in Bengaluru, India between 2015 and 2017. Groundwater levels collected at these locations were analyzed to understand the behavior of the city’s groundwater system. At a local scale, groundwater behavior is non-classical, with valleys showing deeper groundwater than ridge-tops. We hypothesize that this is due to relatively less pumping compared to artificial recharge from leaking pipes and wastewater in the higher, city core areas, than in the rapidly growing, lower peripheral areas, where the converse is true. In the drought year of 2016, groundwater depletion was estimated at 27 mm, or 19 Mm3 over the study area. The data show that rainfall has the potential to replenish the aquifer.
