Annai Violet Arts & Science College had Academicians Meet and they honoured our Teachers. Smt. R. Sudha and Smt. K. Kavitha Chellam received the Key Contributors Award.

II Term activity for LKG and UKG was held on 03.03.2020. II Term activity for I and II Std was held on 06.03.2020

Samskrithi Gnana Pariksha Examination was held for IV to XI Std. on 03.01.2020 & for teachers and parents it was held on 04.01.2020.

Training cum orientation programme on Examination was held at Bhavans’ Rajaji Vidyashram, Kilpauk for Principals. Smt. S. Usha Rani, Principal attended the same.

The Student trainers of “Involve” visited IIT Campus and have taken part in the activities conducted there on 04.01.2020.

Vizhudhugal Vergalai Nokki (A Glorious Bharatham) programme was held at D.G. Vaishnava College, Arumbakkam. 13 Students from VIII Std. attended the same.

Parichay Examination was conducted in our School. 314 students appeared, 79 were from our school .

On 27.02.2020, Sanskrit Meeting was conducted at Astheega Samajam, Venus Colony, Alwarpet. Pujyashri Jagadguru Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathy Sankaracharya Swamigal addressed the Sanskrit Teachers about the development of Sanskrit. Smt. P.Vijayalakshmi, Sanskrit Teacher attended the same.

Due to Covid – 19 lock down, online classes were started for VIII to X and XII through Google meet for the academic year 2020-21. for VI and VII Std. teachers are taking classes and “recorded - videos” are sent to students.

1st June 2020 onwards, our teachers are attending online CBSE – Capacity Building Programmes .

Spoken English class was taken by Ms. Sindhu from USA.

Online Ramayana and Mahabharatha classes commenced for 6 to 8 classes. West Cluster Best Teacher Award function was conducted virtually at Union Christian Public School. Smt. G. Shakila, Science Teacher received the Best Teacher Award 2020.

Parents Meeting and Motivation programme was conducted for 10 th and 12th std .

Parents meeting was held for 9th Std. & 11 th std . on 09.01.2021. Swami Sureshananda addressed the parents on “The role of parents in upbringing their children”. This was followed by an Interactive session.

In support of NEP Students, Parents & Teachers have taken Pledge and have become ambassadors. Various competitions were conducted in connection with National Education Policy . Students, parents and Teachers have taken part.

From the Month of April Online classes are being taken by the teachers. This challenging situation has made the teachers to adopt the modern technology .

9 Smartboards and 10 Web cameras have been provided by the school to facilitate teaching through Online .

Through OLABS practical classes were conducted for IX to XII std.

All the teachers are attending various programmes like CBSE online programme, Webinars etc. to enhance their skill and subject knowledge.

Group Discussion for the teachers was organized. All the teachers were divided into ten groups and discussion was done on topics viz How to bring out the hidden talents of the children, Teaching skills, Swadeshi Sinthanai, Partition of and The RSS- what I know, Teacher & Guru – Wholesome Education, Secularism – Pseudo Secularism, Hindutva, Aryan-Dravidan- Myth or Reality The topics were initiated and led by Sri. S.D. Mohanji, Sri. K. Ponramanji, Sri. N.R. Narendranathji, Sri. Sriramji and Sri. P. Kesavanji.

Teachers shared a lot of information about “Nava Vidha Bhakthi” through online . Online Training Programme was organized for the teachers by Vidya Bharathi from 26.08.2020 to 28.08.2020. Smt. S. Aruna, Pre Primary In-charge was one of the resource persons. She handled the session on the topic “Knowing about Nature and also about moral and ethical values to be imparted to the children.

On 24.10.2020 Vijaya Dasami Day, Oath was taken by our XI Std. Students. In connection with observance of Vigilance awareness week on 31.10.2020 & 01.11.2020, Eradication of untouchability on 29.01.2021 , “State Girl Child Protection Day ” on 24.02.2021, Students, Teachers and Non-teaching staff took Pledge.

Various Workshops & Orientation programmes were attended by our Teachers organized by CSSC, West Cluster, Kanchi Cluster, Dyslexia Assn., Teaching Education (NEP), Art Integration etc.

Staff Meeting was held on 12.12.2020. Report on the activities were read out by the In-charges. Smt. K.Maruthambal briefed about the meeting which she attended regarding “Rewriting History”.

Sri.S.D.Mohan, SMDC Member explained about “Self Respect”. Correspondent explained about untold facts of History. He threw light on the old system of education.

Staff meeting was held on 11.01.2021. Sri Ramakrishna Prasad, Prantha Saha Karyavah (RSS) addressed the teachers on how to be stress free and how to have passion towards the work that we do. He threw light on FIR (Frequency, Intensity, Recovery) and CCC (Calmness, Cheerfulness and Confidence).

Involve programme – Basics of Entrepreneurship was held for XI Std. It comprised of Seven Sessions. The participants received certificates for the same.

Smt. K. Kavitha Chellam conducted the two sessions of Involve programme for Government students on the topic “Empathy” on 14.02.2021 & 20.02.2021 respectively.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT COURSES

Inauguration of Skill development classes for IX std 2020-21 was held through Google meet on 23.08.2020.Shri. J.M. Kashipathiji, Organising Secretary, Vidya Bharathi Akhila Bharatiya Siksha Sansthan, Sri. U. Sundarji, Organising Secretary, Vidhya Bharathi Tamil nadu, Sri. Navaneetha Krishnan, Co-ordinator Daksh Bharathi graced the occasion. Three courses viz, House wiring and Electrical, Web Designing and Two Wheeler mechanism are going to be imparted to the IX std students. Sri. N.R. Narendranath, Correspondent, Sri. P. Kesavan, Additional Correspondent, Sri. Irungovel, Sri. Mohan, SMDC members graced the occasion. On Saturdays, the classes are being taken by the instructors for 1 hour.

Smt. J. Jayasree, Vice Principal received Skill Development Certificates from Sri. Kasipathiji, Vidya Bharati on the occasion of Shishuvatika Programme which was held at Agaramel Unit on 01.11.2020.

Skill Development Course Text books release function was held on 13.02.2021 in our School. Sri.U Sundarji was the Chief Guest. Sri.L.Ramamoorthy, Joint Secretary, VES, Sri. Meenakshi Sundaram, VET, Sri. N. Navaneetha Krishnan, Co-ordinator, Daksh Bharati, Hon.Correspondent and Addl. Correspondent graced the occasion. Text books for Basic Electricals, Plumbing and Web designing were released.

On 07.11.2020, A programme was organised to commemorate Sir C. V Raman’s Birth Anniversary . IX std. students gave a power point presentation about the achievements of Sir. C.V. Raman and his Life History.

As a part of Interact club activity, a programme was organised by the Rotary club. RCME has organized Thazhamboo Project on 28.11.2020, Saturday. It was a platform between Rotaractors and Interactors to nourish their talents. Two Rotaractors from Stella Mary's college, Anooja and Vashne were the speakers of the day. Both of them quoted live examples of eminent people in the society who strongly believed the mantra - The Secret of getting ahead is getting started. The session was lively and interactive. 11 th students participated in the same.

Interact clubs of RC Madras East, Chennai capital and District Annette’s council along with ALERT organised “ Basic First Aid Training” programme on 29.12.2020. 11 th and 12 th Std. Students attended the same.

RCME initiated “ Sun Never Sets Project ” on 24.02.2021, for XI Std. Students. The issue of single use plastics was addressed. The resource person was Dr. Dakshayani, Event Chair and Partner in TTC.

On the occasion of Sri Srinivasa Ramanujam Jayanthi , various events were conducted from 01.12.2020 to 21.12.2020 for 3 rd to 9 th Std. students virtually.

Mahakavi Bharathiyar Jayanthi – IX Std. students organised the programme virtually on 11.12.2020. A Power point was presented about the Life History of Bharathi. Bharathiyar song was rendered. A dance was performed.

On the occasion of Vijay Diwas , Proud India Club presented a programme virtually on 16.12.2020. Significance of the day, Patriotic song, dance and a power point presentation was done by the students. Various job opportunities available in Army, Navy etc. and how the Government provides lots of benefits to the people employed in these fields were explained.

On the occasion of Sri Srinivasa Ramanujam Jayanthi , a programme was organised on 22.12.2020. Dr.M.Veerachamy, Academic Director, VES was the Chief Guest. Students presented power point about the life history of Ramanujam. Magic square was explained by a student. A dance depicting the shapes, symmetry was performed. Dr.M.Veerachamyji appreciated the works of the students and motivated them.

22.02.2021 to 27.02.2021 – National Science day was celebrated for a week. Wherein students from III to XI gave speech about the Scientific facts, Scientists, Experiments, were done by the students from VI to VIII Std. and they sent the videos to the school. IX Std. Life incidents from the Scientist life. XI Std.-Power Point Presentation on general science topics.

On 20.02.2021 – On the occasion of “ Thai Mozhi Dhinam ”, Smt. J . Jeyanthi spoke about the importance. From 20.02.2021 to 27.02.2021 various programmes were conducted in the Assembly. Students spoke about the importance of different languages like Tamil, Kongani, Malayalam, Malathi, Telugu etc. They are presented dance, rendered songs like Bharthiyar songs, Keerthanas, Thirupugal etc.

MOTIVATION PROGRAMMES

On 03.01.2020, Motivation Programme for the X Std. Toppers was conducted by Sri.S.D. Mohanji, SMDC Member.

On 04.01.2020, Sri. K. Subramaniam, Academic Council, VES gave a motivation programme to our X and XII Std. Students.

On 10.01.2020, regarding the Civil Services Examinations coaching, a programme was conducted by Chinmaya Academy for XII Std. Students in our School premises.

On 03.02.2020, Sri. Mohanji, SMDC Member conducted Motivation Programme for our X and XII Std. Board going Students.

On 14.02.2020 - Special Pooja was conducted for X Std. Students. Sri. T. Chakravarthy, Vice President, VES, Sri. S.D. Mohanji and Sri. A.P Irungovelji, SMDC Members blessed and issued the Hall tickets to X Std. Students,

On 15.02.2020 – Special Pooja was performed for XII Std. students and hall tickets were issued. Students performed “Padha Pooja” to their parents. Sri. G.P.N. Guptaji, Vice President, SMDC, Smt. Prema Mahadevan, Education officer, VES, Sri. S.D.Mohan, Sri.A.P.Irungovel – SMDC Members and Sri. N.R. Narendranath, Hon.Correspondent blessed the students.

On 06.03.2020 – Swami Vimurthananda Maharaj, Sri Ramakrishna Math motivated newly entered X and XII Std. students .

SCOUTS AND GUIDES

On 04.02.2020 – Annual Scouts and Guides Camp for VIII Std. and Cubs and Bulbuls (III Std.) was held in our School Premises.

09.02.2020 District Level Standard Judging Competition was held and our students came out as Winners.

14.02.2020 and 15.02.2020 Eight Guides attended Zonal Level Standard Judging Competition at State Head Quarters, Triplicane and have won II Prize .

A Webinar was conducted on the topic Tide Turners Plastic online challenge by Centre for Environment Education . 9 Scouts and 13 Guides participated in the same.

Cubs and Bulbuls participated in the fancy dress competition which was conducted by Southern Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides.

On 12.02.2021, Bharath Scouts and Guides Tamil Nadu conducted “ Action on Body Confidence workshop at Annai Violet Arts and Science College, Ambattur. R. Shruthi of IX Std. attended this workshop.

Three of our Guides participated in the Drawing Competition held on 22.02.2021 at CSI Ewarts Mariculation Hr.Sec. School, Anna Nagar.

S. Hansika received the State Award from the State Officials at State Head Quarters on the occasion of Thinking Day Celebration on 22.02.2021.

Smt. M. Menaka and Smt.S. Muthulakshmi attended Cubs and Bulbuls Training programme at ESI Ewarts Mat. School from 20.02.2021 to 27.02.2021.

ACHIEVEMENTS / PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

From 30.12.2020 to 08.01.2020 - SGFI Nationals Taekwondo was held at Alwar, Rajasthan. A Krithika of VII E participated .

02.01.2020 to 07.01.2020 : SGFI Badminton Tournament was held at Ahamed Nagar, Maharastra. V. Leelavathy & G. Rahul participated in the same.

02.01.2020 to 10.01.2020 : SGFI Table Tennis tournament was held at Vadodara wherein 8 students participated.

10.01.2020 to 22.01.2020 : S. Mithilesh Kumar of XI B represented and secured II Position in Triple Jump (Under 17 Boys) Event with 14.90 mts. distance in the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 held at Guwahati, Assam.

Fourth Intramural Sports meet was held in our school premises on 11.01.2020. Sri.S.Rajasekaran, Associate NCC Officer, Troop Commander, Physical Director, SBOA School and Jr. College inaugurated the Athletic Meet. The prizes were distributed to the winners.

On 24.01.2020, A. Parinay Jain of VI E and A. Titiksha A. Jain of VIII E received the Man of the Match, Best Bowler from Star academy and also they were declared as winners of 2020.

In view of Ratha Sapthami, students from VI to XII Std. performed Suryanamaskar from 24.01.2020 to 01.02.2020. On the day of Ratha Sapthami the importance of the day was rendered by Smt. R. Brindha.

On 27.01.2020, Chennai District Silambattam Championship was organized by Chennai District Silambattam Association. S.Sanjana of VI D secured II Prize . The Competition was held at Dr. MGR Higher Sec. School.

On 31.01.2020, B.D. Jessica secured II position in SGFI Mallakhambh Nationals held at Maharashtra.

On 13.02.2020, West Chennai Sahodaya Cluster Inter School Carrom & Badminton Tournament was held at SBOA School, Anna Nagar. In Carrom Girls have come out as winners.

On 17.02.2020, West Chennai Sahodaya Cluster Inter School Kabaddi Tournament was held at Bhaktavatsalam Vidyashram. Our students came out as winners.

Our Student R. Rohgeet XII B1 has been selected for Junior National Level Cricket team .

R.S. Srihari of V std won first prize in Drawing competition on the topic COVID-19 organised by Tamil Nadu Fire and rescue service on May 30/31.

R. Nivetha of XII A participated in National Level English Language Proficiency and has secured 74%.

Aniruth S. Sridhar, R. Akash, S. Eashwar Ram of XII std participated in National Level Quiz on Engineering Physics organised by Department of Physics, School of Science and Humanities at Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Selaiyur.

Raja Serfoji Government College, Thanjavur , PG & Department of Chemistry organised E-Quiz on Solid State Chemistry. S. Vignesh of XII B1 participated and secured 84% and S. Shaik Afzal has secured 92% marks.

Mounika of XII-B1 successfully attempted a State Level E-Quiz on “Phyana 2020 ” conducted by Department of Physics, Ananda College, Devakottai.

CIART- Centre for Indian Art Resources & Training, organised a state level Art competition 2020-21 on 11.08.2020. R.S. Shri Hari of V std secured First Rank and G.S. Niranjan of VI std secured second rank.

International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students, parents, teachers, Alumni in their homes. Totally 2124 participated.

S. Sanjana of VII std D participated in Sub Junior Level Silambattam competition organized by Tamil Nadu Silambattam Association and secured First place .

10.11.2020, S. Mithilesh Kumar of XII Std . has been selected for undergoing Sports training in Sports Authority of India, NCoE – Tiruvananthapuram for four years. After the training, he will be eligible to take part in Olympics.

Thiruvallur District Badminton Tournament was held on 08.12.2020 at NM Green Grounds. S. Vishnuvardhan of IX D has come out as winner in under -15 doubles and under 17 singles. S. Yogeshwaran of VI A has come out as runner in under -13.

S. Mithilesh Kumar of 12 B participated in Junior State Athletics Championships 2021 held at Sivakasi on 21.01.2021. In that he secured Gold medal in Triple Jump Event with the performance of 14.38 mtrs.

K. Yamini of IX E participated in Junior Athletics Championship held at Sivakasi on 23.01.2021. In that she has secured Bronze medal in 80m hurdles event with the performance of 13.37 sec.

S.Mithiesh Kumar of XII Std. secured Gold Medal in Triple Jump (Under 18) with his Personal best of 15.07 metres in 36 th National Junior Athletic Meet , Guwahati, Assam 2021.

S.Mithiesh Kumar of XII Std. secured Silver Medal in Triple Jump in South Zone Junior Championship held at Kerala with the performance of 14.87 mtrs. on 28.02.2021.

S. Yujesh of II E recited 130 Thirukkural and has bagged the title as Active Winner in the All India National Level Kids Contest conducted on 31.10.2020.

S. Yujesh of II E won First prize in “Disguised Me ” event (National Level competition) Creative KIDO FEST – November 2020.

S. Yujesh received a certificate and shield in recognition of participation in “Shiny Talent 2020” talent showcase event for exhibiting his talent in speech in the age category 7-10. This event is organised by Jackhi creations in association with International Champions Academy through

online on 20.12.2020.

S. Yujesh participated in a Mass World Record Event “Rowthiram Pazhagu ” on January 2 nd 2021 and received a certificate and a medal. This online event on organised by Jackhi Creations, Sirkali.

West Cluster Sahodaya Schools conducted Art Integrated Competition for VI to VIII Classes. In that R.V. Amirtha VII Std. received III Prize on the topic “Serenity of Kashmir in Tamil” . The Art teacher and the prize winners were awarded with the watch.

Bakiyalakshmi Venkatesan & Logithsumesh of VI Std. got outstanding participation certificate in Param Vir Chakra Challenge from “Classle Skill net”.

P.Abirami, Hardik.S.Pandya, S. Abhinandh, V. Ashwini, P.Loheetha, M.Srihari completed their CA Foundation course successfully.

B. Tiyashruthika of 7C participated in Swachh Bharath art excellence award Handwriting Competition and received A+ on 26.02.2021.

SERVICE ACTIVITIES

Our students around 45 in number along with some teachers beautified the Walls by their Painting in and around Korattur Lake to create awareness about Conservation of Water and the importance of keeping the surroundings of the lake clean.

On 10.01.2020, Pongal Vizha : Samskara Kendra Students (around 40) and their parents were invited to take part in this celebrations. A few sports events were conducted for the students and prizes were distributed to the winners.

On the occasion of Thai Krithigai on 10.02.2020, 15 of our students went to Thiruvalidhayam temple and played band.

R. Akash of XI A and A.Chandru of XIB2 did service activity at Central Railway Station from 04.00 p.m to 08.00 p.m. They helped the people at front desk.

On 25.01.2020, RSP Rally was conducted to create awareness about safety measures to be taken while walking and crossing the roads Sri. Srinivasan, Inspector addressed the 11 th Std students and this was followed by the rally by our students .

On 31.01.2020, Thiru Vilakku pooja was conducted in 10 places. In our school 10 th and 12 th students and some of the parents performed Pooja. In the evening, in Siva Sakthi Amman temple, Jambukeshwarar temple, Adhi Kesava Perumal Temple, Vazhi Thunai Vinayagar Temple, Selva VinayagarTemple, Gangai Amman temple, Seikathamman temple, Droupadhi Amman temple, Thiruvilakku Pooja was performed by the parents and public.

On 07.02.2020 Vilakku Pooja was performed by some of the parents and teachers at their homes.

On 26.01.2020, as a part of Samajik Samrastha Club activity , various programmes were conducted in Korattur Bus Stand to create awareness among people about Patriotism . A speech was given about Bhashyam Iyengar, a skit was presented about Neelakanta Brahmachari and Sivasambu and a group song was also rendered by our students.

On 26.01.2020, 11 of our students presented a group song and 12 students were engaged in dance programme in connection with 71 st Republic Day celebration at National Academy of customs, Indirect taxes and Narcotics, Ambattur.

On 29.01.2020 – On the occasion of Vasantha Panchami Day , Rs.11,650/- was collected from the Parents, teachers and students and donated to Vidya Bharati to help the downtrodden students in the backward areas.

The Profit Rs.15,000/- earned out of Commerce Club Activity (Preparation of Agal) was donated to “Anandham Orphanage” Ambattur. For Rs. 10,000/- groceries were purchased and Rs.5000/- was donated for Lunch. The Students rendered Bhajan and entertained the people over there.

Kabhasura Kudineer was provided to the public as preventive measure against Covid-19.

Blood Donation Camp was organized by Indian Red Cross Society in our school premises on 20.05.2020. Our school Rangers (Scouts and Guides) rendered voluntary service in the blood donation camp.

As a service activity, for the Government school students free tuitions are being taken from 09.10.2020 onwards. 12 students are attending these classes.

Through Rotary Club, General medical check up was organized for XII & X std. students on 27.01.2021 & 29.01.2021 respectively. From Rainbow Children’s hospital doctors came for checkup. Sri. G.P.N.Gupta, Vice President of SMDC visited the school.

In connection with Flag Day, Rs.20,000/- was donated towards Armed Forces Flag Day on 07.12.2020. The amount was handed over to Tahsildar, Ambattur Taluk.

Free Tailoring classes are being conducted for Govt. School girl students . The tailoring classes were inaugurated on 07.12.2020. 12 students are getting benefitted out of this. 3 classes are taken per week.

Blood donation camp was organized by The Madras Blood Bureau. Teachers, Alumni, parents and public donated blood. Totally 49 people donated blood.

On the occasion of Vasantha Panchami , the importance was spoken by Smt. R. Brinda on 16.02.2021. Samarpana Nidhi Rs.4000/- was collected. Teachers and students contributed money to use for the education of downtrodden students of Vidya Bharati Schools.

15 Students from 6-8 Std. rendered Bhajan on 27.02.2021 in connection with collection of funds for Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

IMCT PROGRAMMES

On 23.01.2020, As a part of IMCT Ratham Activity , VI to VIII std students and teachers did floral offering to Swami Vivekananda’s Idol.

On 25.01.2020, IMCT Walkathon was organized in our school. Smt. J. Thanganayaki, Regional Senior Manager, SDAT was the chief guest. Sri. M.N. Venkatesan, Secretary, VES addressed on the importance of six petals . 6th to 9 th Std. students participated in the rally.

On 26.01.2020 15 students participated in IMCT Natyathon held at AM Jain College, Meenambakkam.

0n 27.01.2020 IMCT Yogathon was held at A.M. Jain College. 150 students participated.

Around 300 children participated in various competitions held at Guru Nanak College and have won prizes.

FUNCTIONS AND CELEBRATIONS

71 st Republic Day & 42 nd Annual Sports Day were celebrated on 26.01.2020. Lt. Col. KR Kothandaraman, Commanding Officer unfurled the National Flag. Smt. M. Sudarvizhi, Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Alumnus – Dr.N.K.V.V.Jr.College distributed the prizes. A speech on Subhash Chandra Bose was given by K. Midhun Raj of IX std a Group Song was rendered by our students. I and II std. Students did physical display. Prizes for proficiency were distributed. “Viveka 12 | P a g e

Varsha” (II Issue) House magazine was released. Blood Donation Camp was organized. In the Valedictory Function Physical display, Folk dance, Yoga, Mallakhamb and Pyramid were the events performed by our students.

International Mother Tongue Day was celebrated on 21.02.2020. The students were asked to come in colour dress (traditional) and traditional food. The importance of the day was told by a student. The Students presented Cultural programme in the form of dance and group song in different languages. They also spoke a few sentences in Languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Kashmiri. The programme concluded with a Gujarathi Song.

Through online Aksharabhyasam was performed for LKG students. Swami Dharmisthananda Maharaj from Ramakrishna Mutt offered Benediction. Hony. Correspondent Sri. N.R. Narendranathji, Hony. Additional Correspondent Sri. P. Kesavanji, Sri. Irungovelji, SMDC member graced the occasion.

Vidya Pravesh – An initiation to learning for VI std was conducted. Sri. K. Ponraman, Education Officer, Vidya Bharathi was the chief guest. He highlighted the role of parents in upbringing their children.

Guru Poornima was celebrated virtually. 12 th std students presented cultural programmes. Correspondent, Additional Correspondent , Principal blessed the students on this auspicious occasion.

Krishna Jayanthi was celebrated virtually. Preprimary students dressed up like Radha and Krishna. Variety of Songs were presented by III to XII std students. Correspondent Sri.N.R. Narendranath addressed the teachers on the significance of the day.

74 th Independence Day was celebrated. Hony. Correspondent Sri. N.R. Narendranathji hoisted the National flag. Smt. V. Manimegalai gave speech about Maharishi Aurobindo. A group of teachers rendered patriotic song. Vinayagar Chathurthi was celebrated in the school premises. Special pooja and Abhishekam was performed for Gnana Vinayagar and Gnana Saraswathi. Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated virtually. VIII and IX std students organised the programme. Smt. R. Sethubai, Education Officer graced the occasion. Students presented various programmes in connection with celebrations.

Colours Day was celebrated. Smt. PremaMahadevan, Education Officer, was the Chief Guest. She appreciated and blessed the LKG students.

Navarathri festival signifies power, wealth, prosperity and knowledge. This year the primary students are going to present the Navarathri Pooja programmes.

COMPETITIONS

03.01.2020: West Cluster Thirukkural Recitation competition was held at Chennai Public School. Niranjan of V Std. secured II Prize in the Final Round .

On 04.01.2020, Vivekananda Jayanthi Competitions were held. 15 Schools and 418 students participated in various competitions. In the Valedictory function Sri. P. Kesavanji, Hon. Addl. Correspondent addressed the students and distributed the prizes to the winners.

Thiruppavai and Thiruvembavai Recitation competition was held at P.S. Senior Sec. School on 04.01.2020. M. Srinivas of VII Std secured 2 nd prize .

Yujesh of I E participated in Extasia 2020 and Brain Park competitions and has won third prize for craft (pot decoration), second prize for fancy dress and First prize for individual talent (recited 70 Thirukkural).

Sri Vidya Theertha Foundation organised a Self-Development programme for XI and XII std students. Around 95 students participated in this. Smt. Ambika Menon, presented the Life History of Sri Adi Sankara through power point. This was followed by quiz competition for the students.

S. Yujesh of II Std. E received first prize in Talent Hunt Fancy dress competition all over India.

S. Yujesh of II Std. E secured I Prize in Singing Competition conducted by Kristo Tassel- Kids Up for the year 2020-21 on the occasion of Independence Day .

S. Yujesh of II-E of our school came out as winner of Online Rhymes Contest organised by All India National Level Independence Day Online Kids Contest .

“The Divine Life Society” Branch organised Decorative competition on 08.09.2020. S.Yujesh of II E participated and received II prize in the same.

A. Nikitha and A. Nithika of II std participated in Fancy dress competition organised by Dinamalar and received the appreciation certificate . They also chanted Slokas – “Guruvashtakam” in Sankara TV.

Inter School Vivekananda Jayanthi Competition prizes were distributed on 04.02.2021. The Prize winners came to school and received the prizes from Principal. Kola Perumal Chetty Vaishnav Sr.Sec. School received the trophy for Best Performance. SBOA School received the trophy for active participation.

Smt. Kandhimathi, USA donated Rs.50001 for scholarship on 09.02.2021.

We have received Rs.1,00,000/- towards Scholarship by M/S. T Narayana Chetty Subbarayulu Chetty Charities through Sri.G.P.N.Gupta, Managing Director, M/s. Jumbo Bag Ltd.

On 10.02.2021, Dr. Sandhya of Rotary Club donated 30 packets of Masks to our school. Each packet comprising of 50 masks. The masks were distributed to 9 th to 12 th Std. Students and Staff members.
