Public Sector Executives Superannuation 1997 No 306 New South Wales PUBLIC SECTOR EXECUTIVES SUPERANNUATION ACT 1989—ORDER ERRATUM THE Public Sector Executives Superannuation Act 1989—Order, which was published in the Government Gazette of 27 June 1997, Gazette No. 68 on page 5061–5063, was published without the signed date and Premier’s name. The Order is now republished to correct that error. Public Sector Executives Superannuation Act 1989—Order GORDON SAMUELS, Governor. (b) Insert new clauses 3 (1A) and 3 (1B) after clause 3(1) in Schedules A to G in said Proclamation: (1A) Any matters before the new Council with respect to the local development process or any other matter in which the Administrator has a pecuniary interest within the meaning of the Local Government Act 1993 is to be determined by a substitute Administrator appointed by the Minister for that limited purpose. (1B) The Administrator is to complete and lodge with the Acting General Manager by 8 April 2004, a disclosure of interests written return in accordance with Chapter 14, Part 2, Division 2 of the Act in the form prescribed by the regulations.

These events include street parades, motor races, cycling races, jazz festivals, cultural celebrations, sporting events, open air theatres and concerts, and balls or dance parties and can often attract large numbers of people. A lot of time and effort goes into planning and promoting these events and they are often seen as a way of creating employment and providing economic benefits for the local community. Councils play a variety of roles, from event manager to consent authority, and have to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages for everyone in their community before they give approval for the event to go ahead. Events are often complex and may depend on approvals from a range of different agencies. The key to staging a successful event is good communication, as early as possible in the process, between the promoter of the event and the local council and other consent authorities such as the Police and the Environment Protection Authority.

However, an unfortunate feature of the subsequent debate on the local infrastructure crisis has been its almost total neglect of the role of the Commonwealth Roads to Recovery Program which has helped to alleviate this crisis.
