Bamborough Pony Stud “Glenorine” Cowra Nsw BAMBOROUGH PONY STUD “GLENORINE” COWRA NSW The stud was founded in 1969 and produces Welsh Mountain, Welsh, Part-Welsh and Riding Ponies. The emphasis has always been on the production of show quality ponies with movement and placid temperaments. The stud began with the beautiful galloway mare, Bambalina, who was a Thoroughbred/Welsh cross. Bambalina left a great legacy in the stud through three daughters, which were the foundation of the Riding Pony, Part-Welsh and Saddle Pony sections. Many descendents of this great mare are still successfully shown in Bamborough’s current show team. In 1993, our interest in Welsh ponies intensified during a visit to the UK. While at the Royal Show, a colt foal was noticed on the winning mare Boston Bodecia. Boston Bittermint (imp) (by Varndell Right Royal) was purchased and arrived in Australia in January 1994. Bittermint has proven himself many times through his progeny, as the sire of extremely successful ridden Ponies and Galloways. It then became time to find another stallion to cross over the Bittermint daughters. The colt Eyarth Tigra (imp) was found at the Eyarth Stud in Wales, and he arrived in Australia in 2001. Tigra was by the Royal Welsh Champion Carwed Charmer and out of the beautiful mare Eyarth Arabella. Tigra crossed very well with the Bittermint daughters and proved himself as a sire of successful colts and fillies, producing the full brothers B. Paramount, B. Academy and B. Oscar. Sadly Tigra passed away in June 2010. However, his son, B. Oscar who has been retained by the stud, is proving to be the breeder of lovely Welsh and Part Welsh ponies. More recently, we have been very fortunate to find yet another outstanding Welsh stallion in England, ThistledownWicked. He is by the success Royal Welsh Show Champion Paddock Sahara 1 and out of a lovely mare, Thistledown Golden Lustre. He was joined to small number of mares last season and has already given us some lovely foals. We are really looking forward to seeing more of his progeny. Rathowen Paragon joined the stud in 2011. We have always been big fans of his sire, Courtland Boy Blue and he is out of a lovely mare. Paragon is a quality Riding Pony stallion with extravagant movement, a trait he has passed onto his progeny. He is crossing very well with all our mares. We have already done very well with his offspring in the ring. Bamborough Pony Stud has sold many ponies who have gone on to have some very successful careers with their new owners, including B. Paramount (shown by Helen Dohan and the Jones-Ryan family), B. Jabiluka (Hocking Family), B. Mickey J (Breohny Petrie), B. Lady Jessika (Clive and Jennifer Hastie), B. Regalia (Ayshia Noy), B. Epic (Alison Gill) and B. Sabrina (Sarah Young). I would like to thank anyone who has had any involvement with Bamborough ponies over the years, including riders, handlers, and helpers. Good luck to all the new owners of Bamborough ponies and I hope you really enjoy them. Robert Grant 1 2 AMARANDA PONY STUD Amaranda Pony Stud was founded in 1957 with a small taffy pony mare given to me by the manager of the ANZ Bank at Liverpool. She was believed to be by the pony stallion Prince Comedy (205APSB). Being still a school boy, I worked during my summer holidays for Mr. Max Kentwell of the famous Baringa Pony Stud. He mated my taffy mare, Bottletop, to Lowlynn Silver Chief. The result was Amaranda Esmeralda and that’s where it all began over 50 years ago. Thirty five years ago I bought a Welsh Mountain colt from Lady Creswick of the famous Nattai Pony Stud, Nattai Flarelight. He was cream and carried a double cross of Milton Kitty, who was by cream of Eppynt (Imp), from where his colour came. He carried 11 crosses of the renowned Greylight (Imp). This was to be the first of my Welsh ponies. I acquired the buckskin Section B Welsh mare Weston Cherie, by Weston Gigli (Imp) out of the magnificent mare Weston Choice (Imp). What a start to the stud she turned out to be, leaving over a dozen lovely fillies and having only 1 colt in her lifetime. Following this I acquired two cream colts from the late Greg Higgins, Trentlyn Monte Christo and Trentlyn Platinum. Both bought as foals and now stallions, they have done a wonderful job for me. The next two stallions to come to “Montcalm” were Imperial Jaguar and Derralea Hamlet and they are doing an excellent job. Both stallions are chestnut, something which I badly needed to put over my dilute mares. I then went to Imperial stud and purchased two colts by Eyarth Tigra (Imp) – Imperial Apollo, a chestnut stallion from the Rockery Grand Duchess (Imp) line, and Imperial Placido, a grey stallion from the Weston Picture (Imp) line. Both stallions are doing a very good job over my mares. 3 I am very grateful for the wonderful job done by Mick and Kim Rath in the preparation of my ponies for the show ring. I would not have had the success that I have had without their continued assistance. We work as a great team. Over the last 50 years I have made some wonderful friends and have gained an enormous amount of pleasure out of my ponies. I look forward to meeting with many of you at the forth coming sale. Brussels PRINTED FOR MELINE, CANS A.ND C"., EOILEVARD DE WATERLOO, Zi. M DCCC XXXIX. MR V. un:ve PREFACE TO THE FIRST EDITION. To assist in the detection of spurious and the correction of inaccu- rate pedigrees, is one of the purposes of the present publication, in which respect the first Volume has been of acknowledged utility. The two together, it is hoped, will form a comprehensive and tole- rably correct Register of Pedigrees. It will be observed that some of the Mares which appeared in the last Supplement (whereof this is a republication and continua- tion) stand as they did there, i. e. without any additions to their produce since 1813 or 1814. — It has been ascertained that several of them were about that time sold by public auction, and as all attempts to trace them have failed, the probability is that they have either been converted to some other use, or been sent abroad. If any proof were wanting of the superiority of the English breed of horses over that of every other country, it might be found in the avidity with which they are sought by Foreigners. The exportation of them to Russia, France, Germany, etc. for the last five years has been so considerable, as to render it an object of some importance in a commercial point of view.

That simple act changed her life forever. Actually, her life had been changing slowly over the previous few months, but everything came to a head starting at 5:15 a.m. the day she was shot. Let’s take a look. 5:15 a.m. “Mama! Where’s Sa…” Marla Gershe barged through the aluminum doors leading to the looming floor, stopping abruptly to stare at the far wall where ten names on the in- board lit up red confirming the obvious: Mama had only half a staff. The flimsy doors behind Gershe waffled in the silence. She looked over at the short woman wearing optical enhancers on her nose. “Where are your weavers?” Marla called, jerking her head toward the nearly empty room.
