Q3 Academy Tipton RSA Sandwell Academy will contact primary schools direct to arrange transfer of files. Health & Safety • Each primary school will be allocated a 20 minute slot (to be shared with 2 other schools, meaning there will be 3P and 3S in the room at any given time)– if you arrive early please wait in your vehicle rather than enter early. Please be punctual – late arrival may result in lost slot. • Each school, both P and S will only be allowed 1 member of staff each, this does NOT need to be a Year 6 teacher or even member of the teaching staff! • Your allocated time will involve a ‘visit’ to each of the schools there on that day. • P school will show the files to the S staff, then be asked to place them in a black bag (provided) along with a complement slip, using gloves (provided) and tie the bag. Leaving it in a safe place near to where the S staff are situated. The bags will be opened after 3 days. • Please dispose of gloves prior to leaving the building if a bin is provided. • If a signature is required for CP files, please arrange for an electronic version to be shared. Health & Safety cont. • The Fayre will NOT be an opportunity to discuss individual children this year. If a conversation is still needed and hasn’t taken place please arrange a ‘virtual’ meeting. • It is NOT mandatory! However any school not wishing to take part must arrange collection/delivery of pupil files prior to the September (hopefully!) start. • Please ensure you bring along any relevant pupil files, the About Me work and a list of pupils who have the About Me work at home, so that secondary schools can ensure contact to remind them to bring it in Sept. • To minimise contact with other people I will not be attending, please use my email, text or telephone if there are any issues on the day (07973972588) • Please observe all current guidelines and continue with regular handwashing when in and around the school buildings. In your email please include: Your school: The day(s) you will be attending: The preferred time of day: I will try my best to fit in with each schools preferred time of day (the less specific you are the easier this will be but I will do my best!) • Once booked I will email back to confirm your slot. I am afraid due to the time constraints this will be a first come first served basis. Other Information. • If you would like to see a copy of the Risk Assessment for the event then please email me and I will send it to you. This has already been sent to and seen by both Sandwell Health and Safety and Public Health. • Huge apologies to those schools who may need/want to attend more than 1 session. If I could have done this any other way and kept you all safe I would have done. • If you have ANY questions or comments please get in touch ASAP. I know this is not an ideal way to file share but I hope it is helpful and the only time we have to do it like this! Reasons to have face to face drop off (albeit from a distance) • CP files can securely be handed to staff and monitored. • Further conversations can be requested and organised, rather than trying to coordinate while at school with a million other jobs to do! • Final quick comments can be made about the files being handed over. • No one needs to travel around several schools, waiting in receptions or diving around with several drops and no delay in secondary schools receiving the information ready for a September start. • Files are in and out of a ‘third’ building in the space of a day and not being left somewhere waiting to be collected and therefore given no real guarantee of safety. • H&S agree that this is a necessary event as it cuts down the need to visit several schools over the course of a day or 2 and it is a controlled environment. Please include each school’s Unique Reference Number (URN), Department for Education (DfE) code, and/or address/postcode to allow us to identify each relevant school without ambiguity. We define a school to be oversubscribed if, and only if, at least one on-time applicant was refused a place and the applicant did not receive an offer from any higher preference school. If there were no refusals to on-time applicants - even if the school was unable to accept one or more late applications or admitted over its published admission number - then we do not consider this school to be oversubscribed.
