It was like when Milhouse met the Shel- byville Milhouse. “So this is what it fells like... when doves cry.” Then at Scot’s I ran into these hansome gentlemen perusing the Bea issue of Nightspots. I had no idea what I had started. The evening ended surprisingly appropriately, as I ran into none other than local graphic guru Scott Nash, the designer of the very same Bea Is For Butch T-shirt at Jackhammer. And you’ll never guess what he had on! OK, you don’t have to guess as he is clearly pictured to the left, but you get my excitement level. It was with a similar amount of excitement that I helped accept the Michael Leppen Award bestowed upon Windy City Media Group by About Face Theatre at this year’s Wonka Ball. Thanks so much photo by Kat Fitzgerald, MysticImagesPhotography.com for the honor! And if Bea were here right now, she would almost certainly tell you all to play safe this big, big party weekend! [email protected] The death of Elizabeth Taylor on Wednesday drew expressions of sadness and admiration from AIDS and LGBT activists in D.C., who said they were honored that the city’s Whitman-Walker Clinic build- ing that bears her name would serve as a local legacy to the famous actress. Taylor, a two-time Academy Award-winning actress who starred in more than 50 fi lms over a period of nearly 70 years, died at a hospital in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure. She was 79. “She was an extraordinary personality and it’s a wonderful feeling that we have a little part of her legacy right here on 14th Street, said gay D.C. Council member Jim Graham (D-Ward 1). Graham served as executive director of the Whitman-Walker Clinic in November 1993, when Taylor came to D.C. for a ceremony to dedi- cate the Clinic’s main building for patient services as the Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center.

Introduction The Jews never faced much anti-Semitism in America. This is due, in large part, to the underlying ideologies it was founded on; namely, universalistic interpretations of Christianity and Enlightenment ideals of freedom, equality and opportunity for all. These principles, which were arguably created with noble intent – and based on the values inherent in a society of European-descended peoples of high moral character – crippled the defenses of the individualistic-minded White natives and gave the Jews free reign to consolidate power at a rather alarming rate, virtually unchecked. The Jews began emigrating to the United States in waves around 1880, when their population was only about 250,000. Within a decade that number was nearly double, and by the 1930s it had shot to 3 to 4 million. Many of these immigrants – if not most – were Eastern European Jews of the nastiest sort, and they immediately became vastly overrepresented among criminals and subversives. A 1908 police commissioner report shows that while the Jews made up only a quarter of the population of New York City at that time, they were responsible for 50% of its crime. Land of the free. One of their more common criminal activities has always been the sale and promotion of pornography and smut. Two quotes should suffice in backing up this assertion, one from an anti-Semite, and one from a Jew. Firstly, an early opponent of the Jews in America, Greek scholar T.T. Timayenis, wrote in his 1888 book The Original Mr. Jacobs that nearly “all obscene publications are the work of the Jews,” and that the historian of the future who shall attempt to describe the catalogue of the filthy publications issued by the Jews during the last ten years will scarcely believe the evidence of his own eyes.

DAGGER DVD REVIEWS! http://www.daggerzine.com/reviews_dvd.html 03.07.08 D.O.A. SMASH THE STATE: THE RAW, ORIGINAL D.O.A. 1978-81 - (SUDDEN DEATH)- If you ever wondered just how smokin’ of a live band that D.O.A. could be at times then here is your chance to catch them in all of their white hot glory. I didn’t catch D.O.A. for the first time until the Summer of 1985 (on the LET’S WRECK THE PARTY tour) and while they were good I had heard stories about how I should have “seen them when.” This dvd has plenty o’ footage with the classic Joey Shithead (vocals/guitar) Randy Rampage (bass) , Dave Gregg (guitar) and the youngster, Chuck Biscuits on drums (Biscuits later went on to play with Black Flag, Social Distortion, Danzig and a least a few others). For some reason San Francisco seemed to be a big destination for them as at least half of this footage is from there (On Broadway in 1980, Old Waldorf from 1981, 10th St Hall from ’81 and a Bay Area mystery concert from 1981 as well). You’ll get to hear some raging versions of classic cuts like “The Enemy”, “New Age”, “No Way Out”, “World War 3” and plenty of others. There’s even some grainy backstage footage with our heroes hangin’ with the Circle Jerks and The Lewd (you can’t really see much) and a cool version of “World War 3” from a television station in ‘79. So while a small bit of the footage on here is sketchy most of it is truly classic and well worth viewing.
