NOTICE OF PROPOSALS TO REDUCE SPEED LIMITS AT INCHBARE, , NEWTYLE AND REDFORD.

Angus Council hereby proposes to make the Angus Council (Inchbare, Kirriemuir, Newtyle and Redford) (Variation of Speed Limits) Order 202X under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purposes of:- (1) reducing the speed limits from 60MPH to 40MPH at the following locations:-  B966 - Road at Inchbare from a point 142 metres or thereby south of its junction with the Kirkton of - Road southwards for a distance of 150metres or thereby;  B966 Brechin - Edzell Road at Inchbare from a point 80 metres or thereby north of the centre line of the Westwater Bridge northwards for a distance of 150metres or thereby;  A928 Kirriemuir - Road at Kirriemuir from a point 250 metres or thereby south of its junction with Beechwood Place southwards for a distance of 150 metres or thereby;  Kirriemuir - Coull Smithy - Brechin Road at Kirriemuir from a point 180 metres or thereby northeast of its junction with Golf Road generally northeastwards for a distance of 150 metres or thereby.  B954 Muirhead - - Glenisla Road at Newtyle from a point 340 metres or thereby southeast of its junction with South Street southeastwards for a distance of 150 metres or thereby;  B954 Muirhead - Alyth - Glenisla Road at Newtyle from a point 155 metres or thereby northwest of its junction with Coupar Angus Road northwestwards for a distance of 150 metres or thereby;  Lintrose - Newtyle - Glamis Road at Newtyle from a point 310 metres or thereby west of its junction with Meigle Road westwards for a distance of 150 metres or thereby;  Lintrose - Newtyle - Glamis Road at Newtyle from a point 115 metres or thereby northeast of its junction with Commercial Street northeastwards for a distance of 150 metres or thereby;  B961 - Road at Redford from a point 40 metres or thereby south of its junction with the private road to Glentyrie Farm southwards for a distance of 150 metres or thereby. (2) promoting pedestrian and traffic safety.

A copy of the draft variation order together with accompanying documents including plans of the affected road, the current speed limits order and the council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the variation order are available online at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders and in hard copy at the reception at Angus Council’s main office at Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, DD8 1AN where they can be examined during normal office hours without payment of fee.

Any person may, on or before 21 February 2020, object to the proposed variation order by notice in writing to the Director of Infrastructure, Angus Council, Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar DD8 1AN or by email to [email protected]. Objections should include the name and address of the objector and the title of the variation order, and specify the grounds of objection.
