Walk Details In a wonderfully remote location, these two loops (which are fully sign-posted as part of the National Loop Walk network) offer the walker some of the finest walking and coastal views in Ireland. Added to this is a rich cultural and archeological heritage with opportunities along the routes to view numerous historic and religious remains. Distance: Tower Loop - Approximately 7.5 kms : Tower Loop with Drum Loop - approximately 11 kms Time: Tower Loop - 2 - 3 hrs : Tower Loop with Drum Loop - 3 - 4 hrs Terrain: Quiet roads, bog road/rough track, bog. Grading: Tower Loop - Moderate although there is a steep climb to the tower. Drum Loop - Hard and relatively remote. Please Note: No dogs are allowed on these routes! Getting There Gleann Cholm Cille village is accessed from the direction of Donegal Town via Killybegs. From the direction of Ardara and Glenties access is via the spectacular Glengesh Pass. Parking is limited in Gleann Cholm Cille village and visitors are asked to park sensitively and to ensure that parked vehicles do not obstruct access for local people or work activities.
