GENERAL BODY MEETING NOTICE AND AGENDA ON PAGE 22 Namaste Devotees: Our sincere thanks to all of you for attending and participating in all celebrations like Mahashivaratri along with Shiva Sahasra Linga Puja, Ramanavami Utsavam which included Sita-Ram Kalyanam, Akhand Ramayan Path and also chanting of Hanuman Chalisa 108 times. We cannot thank you enough for supporting us on New Year days of every community during the month of Chaitra. In the month of March, we did Pratishtha and Puja of Shri Satya-narayana and Hanuman ji Utsav Murtis. Of course, cultural program like Holi/ Anand Bazaar is always universally very well enjoyed by our young generation as well as the experienced seniors! We would be very proud and happy to invite you to have a look at our renovated Cultural Hall. Temple is lucky to have a dedicated,. experienced President. We had three new pujas, Khemchand Nangrani 972 -742-5680 the first of which is the Nava Graha Shanti Puja for three days. The second puja is the Utsav Murti Prana Pratishta of Lord Hanuman and Lord Satyanarayana for three days, Manju Shrivatsava 972-307-0407 where Pundit Laxminarayan came from Triputi, India to perform this auspicious puja. Satyanarayana Bodla 817-354-6068 To meet the need of our patrons, we have a versatile team of qualified pundits Thakorbhai Patel 972-869-3929 representing different Hindu religions. Our priests are second to none in Vedic knowledge Vinoda Kumar 817-706-3767 and are fluent in Sastra recital. Our temple priest Shree Gopalbhai Mehta resigned as of December 31st 2018 and a new priest Shree Lokeshbhai Pandey has joined the temple as of April 11th 2019. Best of luck to Pundit Gopalbhai and please welcome Pundit Lokeshji with open arms. Executive Committee We have installed new tiles and painted the cultural hall, lobby and stage. This has President provided a newer, fresher look, which has increased our rental sales.We have bought Kusum Masters 817-265-0115 600 new chairs for the cultural hall and for main temple. We had a volunteer dinner in May. In June we had free dinner and free admission for a Vice President I play on ìLife of Swami Vivekanandaî (the artists came from India) for devotees. The Chandra K Bandar 469-286-6721 cultural hall was overflowing with volunteers and devotees for both events. Thank you to Nilaben and Hirabhai Jariwala and their team for cooking Mahaprasad on such short notice. Vice President II Rajendra Vankawala 817-896-7258 We are striving to meet the need of our devotees and are planning to bring a number of new events such as Shiv Maha Puran katha, Hindola, Bhagwat Katha, 108 havan Kund Gayatri Homam, Shree Yantra Chakra Puja and many more to the temple. We also have a mobile app, which you can download, showcasing all the temple Treasurer events. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Vidya Vikas volunteers, teachers and Joint Treasurer parents who make this program very successful. The youth has been very active with various temple projects. The Boys Scout has repaired all of the benches and has also build two new benches for the Committee Members temple.   • Ceremony Is a Traditional Indian Samskara (Ceremony) Which Leads the Vatu (Child) to the Teacher
    Om Sri Sairam Samoohika Upanayana Mahotsavam or Mass Thread Ceremony is a traditional Indian Samskara (ceremony) which leads the Vatu (child) to the teacher. The Upanayanam ceremony initiates the recital of the Gayatri Mantra which prays for clear intelligence, and thus starts the journey of the vatu taking his first steps to the ultimate realisation of the Reality. This along with investiture of the sacred thread or the “Yagnopavit” which is made up of three strands of thread, which signifies the three responsibilities that the child takes up upon himself: responsibility towards parents, responsibility towards Knowledge or the Master and responsibility towards society. The Gayatri mantra has the subtle power of removing evil tendencies and implanting virtuous habits, so the Upanayanam is a unique Samskara. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba says that the Upanayanam is not only beneficial to the boys initiated but also to everyone who witnesses it and draws inspiration from it. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba had performed many Upanayanams for individual families and for groups of children in Prasanthi Nilayam and at Brindavan Ashram. In recent memory Bhagawan had performed one such Samoohika Upanayanam at Prasanthi Nilayam on February 10th 2000 for 700 boys from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, 2005 in Brindavan Ashram and a Upanayanam ceremony was also conducted in 2012. On Feb 10th 2019, exactly 19 years later on the same day of the Year 2000 Samoohika Upanayanam, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations India is proposing to conduct a Samoohika Upanayanam at Prasanthi Nilayam. Background and Origins Hinduism is also known as Sanatana dharma meaning “immemorial way of right living”. Hinduism is the oldest and most complex of all established belief systems, with origins that date back more than 5000 years in India. There is no known prophet or single founder of Hinduism. Hinduism has a range of expression and incorporates an extraordinarily diverse range of beliefs, rituals and practices, The Hindu faith has numerous schools of thought, has no founder, no organisational hierarchy or structure and no central administration but the concept of duty or dharma, the social and ethical system by which an individual organises his or her life.

Abstract Upanayan or say Yagyopaveet or Vidhyaadhyana can also be called the rite of initiation. Upanayana rites-Yagyopaveet is the tenth rite of Hinduism This is a very important ritual in Hinduism. It can be called the tenth sacrament in sixteen rites. Because this ninth ritual is performed after Karnabheda. The main purpose of this rite is to pave the way for the material and spiritual progress of the native. Assisted in the study of Vedas, teaching education, kalpa, grammar, verses, astrology, called Nirukta as Vedarya goes. Among these, the Vedāryān called ‘Shiksha’ is the beginning of the Veda mantras (in the text, rituals of ‘Kalpa’ Veda mantras And for the knowledge of Yagya rituals, the meaning of Vedic verses (words) in the Nirukta Ved Mantras. In the true sense one is bom a Hindu and cannot be made one by conversion or by an ‘institution.’ The way of life is today called a ‘religion.’ The rules and regulations, norms and structure utilized for peaceful happy living patterns have been adopted into rites and rituals. Today the ossification of cus­ toms into religious explanations has made the way of life into a rigid pattern. Yet Hinduism is one religion that has had several socio­ religious reform movements and there have been drastic changes in life and worship to accommodate time and tide. This paper traces the path of the Hindu woman from ancient to modern times. It estab­ lishes the fact that liberative attitudes have transcended religious oppression not limiting educational and social advancement of the Hindu woman. The forward march in the secular fields and the atti­ tude of liberal values is more evident amongst the Hindu woman than among the women of other monolithic institutionalized religions in India. Today women have received their equal status in Hinduism by being accepted as priests and Gurus. The paper has three distinc­ tive areas of discussion, 1.Hinduism, 2.The place of women in Hin­ duism and her role as interpreted in society. 3. The Hindu women in context to the process of liberalization and her ability to change the social attitude with the help of law and education.
