CWU maintains education, exchange, and research programs with 30 colleges and universities around the world, including 14 institutions in East Asia, our major service area. This year, 11 faculty and 254 students have been studying, teaching, or conducting research in 29 other nations. CWU has also been designated by the East-West Center in Honolulu as a Regional Center of the Asian Studies Development Program, the only university in the Pacific Northwest region to hold that designation. CWU is continuously looking for partnerships that will enrich students’ educational experience and prepare them to succeed in a global economy. One example is CWU’s new World Wide Wine Program, which will take a group to Chile this year to teach students about developing marketing strategies for the wine trade between Washington and Chile. Representatives of the Taiwanese government have contacted the director of the World Wine Program, Amy Mumma, about developing education opportunities for employees in the hospitality industry.
