Day 1 – May 09 2020 – Arrive Islamabad Rest at your hotel after a transfer from the airport. Day at leisure. Meet the group for dinner and orientation in the evening. Overnight Islamabad (only dinner)
Day 2 – May 10 2020 - Islamabad – Chilas Early morning start full day drive via the famous Karakoram Highway to Gilgit-Baltistan. Overnight Chilas.
Day 3 – May 11 2020 - Chilas – Karimabad From Chilas we continue further north, just outside of Chilas make a short visit to see Buddhist petroglyphs, continue to Hunza. Overnight Karimabad.
Day 4 – May 12 2020 - Hunza Valley Today we visit the formidably-sited Baltit and Altit Fort and take in the breathtaking mountains and valley views. Overnight Karimabad.
Day 5 – May 13 2020 - Hunza - Kunjerab Pass - Gilgit Continuing up the Karakoram Highway, we will drive up to the border with China at the Kunjerab Pass, before retracing our steps to Karimabad and moving on to Gilgit, a trading post on the historic trade route to China. In the evening you will be guests of honour at a Polo match. Overnight Gilgit.
Day 6 – May 14 2020 - Gilgit – Phandar Lake Entering the Hindu Kush Range, we begin our 250km journey by road to Chitral. Overnight at the PTDC hostel situated by the alpine lake at Phandar.
Day 7 – May 15 2020 - Phandar - Shandur Pass - Chitral We continue our journey over the 3,800m Shandur Pass, site of the annual Chitral / Gilgit polo tournament. We arrive in Chitral in the evening. Overnight Chitral.
Day 8 – May 16 2020 - Chitral – Kalash Valley - Chitral After a brief visit to the Chitrali Bazaar, we travel the short drive to the Kalasha valley of Bomboret to attend the Spring festival / Chilimjusht. Overnight in Chitral.
1 / 4 Day 9 – May 17 2020 - Chitral – Lowari Pass - Swat We turn south alongside the Afghan border, crossing the seldom-forgotten 3,200m Lowari Pass to enter the lush alpine meadows of the Swat Valley at Chakdarra. Overnight in Mingora.
Day 10 – May 18 2020 - Swat – Malakand Pass - Peshawar Leaving the Swat Valley, we drive to Peshawar via the heavily-fortified Malakand Pass, stopping on the way at the Gandharan ruins at Takht-i-Bahai. Overnight in Peshawar.
Day 11 – May 19 2020 - Peshawar Visit carpet market & city sightseeing. Overnight Peshawar.
Day 12 – May 20 2020 - Peshawar - Rawalpindi Early morning departure, quick stop at Attock, visit Taxila, in the afternoon / evening visit Rawalpindi bazaars. Overnight Rawalpindi.
Day 13 – May 21 2020 - Fly out of Islamabad. We take you to the airport for your flight home. (no lunch, dinner or sightseeing on this day – only airport transfer)
