Today’s feast celebrates how the humanity of Jesus (including his entire family life) has brought saving significance into the daily rhythms of our human family life. The scriptures offer instruction and encouragement on how to share—within our families, parish families, and the wider human family—the love that God shares with us in Jesus. Selections from Sirach, Psalm 128, and Colossians encourage us to reflect divine love and thus find holiness in all our human relationships. The reading from Matthew’s Gospel offers a living example of love in the actions Joseph took to protect his young family from danger and to nurture them within the larger family of faith of their time. “Mass of the Americas” Is a National Sensation sfarch.org/mass-of-the-americas

On November 16, in Washington, D.C., all 3,500 seats in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception were filled for a Solemn celebrated by Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone and broadcast live by EWTN. It was the world-premiere of the Mass of the Americas in the Extraordinary Form. The liturgy was broadcast live on Eternal Word Television Network EWTN), and in just one month the videotape has had more than 108,000 views on YouTube. See it for yourself on the webpage, above. The webpage also offers new praise for this unique musical setting, commissioned by Archbishop Cordileone's Benedict XVI Institute for Sacred Music and Divine Worship and written by Frank La Rocca. There are also interviews with the Archbishop and the composer. PRAY FOR VOCATIONS & PRIESTS December 28 & 29, 2019 PRAY FOR PEACE

PARISHIONERS: EMAIL SCAMS The scammers are out in force this holiday season. Churches and throughout the Bay Area are experiencing a tremendous in- crease in attacks wherein parishioners receive an email or text message from a priest asking for emergency help in the form of cash or gift cards. These are NEVER real re- quests. Please spread the word to others in your parish to prevent anyone from being taken advantage of.
