The number of students taking online classes from the 18-19 school year to the 19-20 school year almost tripled. Online learning is not for everyone but some students really enjoy it. Math Teacher Katie Palmer teaches Algebra on YouTube. We have used e-learning in place of having a snow day when there has been a need for it since the 2014-2015 school year. Our teachers are expected to have online lessons at the ready in the event a snow day is called. Using e learning on snow days saves us from having to tack on days at the end of the school year to make up for lost time. No need to do that when you can call an e learning day. What really helped us in our transition to e-learning were the snow days that we had over the last couple of years - especially during last year’s winter vortex - whoever thought something good would have come out of that! E-learning has his own set of challenges for both teachers and students. Teachers are also accustomed to interacting with their students face to face and so many of them are finding cont.
