Such cuts as "", "" and "White Lighting and Wine," displayed their dialed inAitaiaakte1844 high energized style of rock. In the late spring and early summer of 1978, Heart released their second album entitled "Magazine," which consisted of a collection of songs never released. This album proved to be a slight transition for Heart as they went from high energized rock to a slightly more progressive style. With their single "Heartless" lead- ing the way, Heart seemed to be on their way to their finest LP yet.

That fine LP was released in mid September of this year. Ingeniously entitled "Dog and Butterfly"; sim- ply meaning that the Dog side is fine progressive rock, and the Butterfly side is mellow pieces of music with beautifully interwoven acoustic gui- tar harmonies. Heart, still headed by the Wilson sisters, (Ann on all lead vocals, and Nancy on acoustic, hijinx, and six and twelve string guitars), displays a quality never before displayed on a Heart album. The quality to blend beautiful background vocals with sweet, smooth flowing acoustic guitars and 's crisp high pitched lead vocals.

The first cut on side Dog is taped from their concert in Memphis, entitled "Cook with Fire," its the perfect song to start off a Heart concert with. Headed by Roger Ficher, and Howard Leese on electric guitars, Heart kicks it out just as good as some veterans who have been around for awhile. The second cut entitled "High Time" has some excellent harmony between the two lead guitars and Nancy Wilson on acoustic guitar. The last two cuts on the Dog side entitled "Hijinx" and "Straight On" reflect the Heart of the past in the fashion of Steve Fossen's thumping bass guitar and Michael Derosier precise drumming.

The Butterfly side, as I mentioned before, is the mellow acoustic half of Heart. This side proves to be one of Hearts' most impressive pieces of music ever. The first cut entitled "Dog and Butterfly" is all Ann and Nancy Wilson. This particular side F'AHST 601. WING CONtPAN N411.114o, Poo. Hvight>. Nvoi.grk., . . .
