SHORT STORY PROJECT The art of making music a way of life – The Inna de Yard Project demonstrates beautifully the way the senior generation of the Jamaican music scene still interacts with young artists worldwide. Day by day artists meet in Earl „Chinna“ Smith’s yard to create music surrounded by nature and confraternity – the way it has always been in Jamaican Reggae and . Involving musicians, singers, producers, sound engineers and artists from numerous countries, genres and cultures, this film project reflects the last 40 years of Jamaican music history.

Europe Tour The musicians and main characters involved in this documentary are going to accompany their film, providing an unique experience of motion picture and live music. First-hand insight into the genesis of Reggae through meeting its protagonists. Those very artists, who have always been faithful to their roots of the 60s and 70s and who, whilst becoming legends in their own time, are still inspiriting the stages with their enthusiasm and love to Reggae culture – thus passing it on to the next generation.

BOB ANDY: Singer / Songwriter / JAM (1944 ) Bob hit mainstream for the first time in 1965, establishing his smash- hit „I’ve Got To Come Back Home“ as one of favourite anthems. Already being one of the leading Singers with Studio One, he received international recognition as well for recording Nina Simones „Young Gifted And Black“ with Marcia Griffith in 1970. The single sold over half a million copies in England and continental Europe and is still found on radio playlists worldwide. There is no doubt in Bob Andys importance for the Jamaican music scene and especially its international vibrancy. Over the years he’s recorded countless classics and formed cornerstones of music history.

EARL CHINNA SMITH: Guitar, Producer / JAM (1955) 30 years later, Chinna’s still in the business, music is the air he breathes. Widely acclaimed through his works with the legendary in the 1970s, he’s played on half of all grammy nominated Reggae records ever. Collaborations include illustrious names of the likes of , Jimmy Cliff, , Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers, , Freddie McGregor, Michael Rose, Mighty Diamonds, , , , Sizzla and many more. His name can be found on more than 500 Reggae recordings and he’s crossed genres with Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone and others. Although at home everywhere in this world, his favourite spot is and will always be his Kingston home he says.

KIDDUS I: Singer, Producer, Percussion / JAM (1944) himself remains a cryptic figure. 1978 his song „Groundation In Zion“ appeared on the soundtrack for the motion picture . It was just reissued by the Spanish label Lone Lion. Kiddus prominently involved himself in the 1978 peace movement and in reminiscene for Brothers Claudie „Massop“ and Buckie „Marshall“ recorded his album „Security In The Streets“ which was later released on his own label „Sheperd“. But it wasn’t until 2005 that his debut album „Kiddus I - Inna de Yard“ was released under Makasound. Nevertheless the Japanese Dub Store announced a collectors edition of 45 of his singles, to be published yet this year.
